Asian American & Pacific Islander History

Orlando is home to vibrant Asian American and Pacific Islander communities that are as richly diverse as the countries they represent.

One of Orlando’s oldest neighborhoods, and located directly north of the adjacent downtown core, the Main Street America-accredited Mills 50 District presents a melting pot of Asian influences.

About 15 minutes west of downtown, Orlando’s Chinatown district features a collection of authentic Chinese restaurants and shops, plus a traditional Chinese arch known as a paifang or pailou.
