The centerpiece of SeaWorld Orlando’s offerings is its main theme park, which opened in 1973. Today, it offers white-knuckle thrills courtesy of its famous roller coasters, as well as gentler attractions geared especially for kids. Younger guests will find even more to love when SeaWorld’s new Sesame Street section opens in 2019.

Of course, SeaWorld is also an incredible place to get up close and personal with an ocean of aquatic creatures, including dolphins, manta rays, sharks … and Shamu! What’s more, SeaWorld’s rides and animal encounters are complemented by fun annual events like SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration and spring’s Seven Seas Food Festival.

For even more aquatic adventures, make the trip to Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark, where heated waters ensure the park stays open 365 days a year. It also has some of Orlando’s most imaginative raft rides and slides — including one that will take you through a school of dolphins — as well as ample opportunities for relaxation.

With that being said, even Aquatica can’t compete with the serenity you’ll find at Discovery Cove, SeaWorld’s unique, all-inclusive day resort. The signature attraction here is the Dolphin Swim experience, but you’ll also get personal time with exotic birds, fish, rays, otters and more, as well as rarified opportunities for relaxation.

While you’re in the Orlando area, don’t forget that SeaWorld also operates Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Tampa’s Adventure Island water park. These attractions also have a wealth of entertainment in store for you a little more than an hour southwest of Orlando.
