On the Water

Nothing gets some dads’ motors running like, well, running motors. Attach one of those bad boys to a rugged airboat, and you have a recipe for adventure that most dads will find hard to resist. Top Orlando-area airboat operators include Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides and Wild Florida. (The latter also has a Gator Park and drive-thru Safari Park.)

If Dad prefers slower-paced fun on the water, take him to kayak-tour operators like Adventures in Florida, Epic Paddle Adventures, and Get Up and Go Kayaking. You can also opt for swimming in our gorgeous natural springs, including those at Blue Spring State Park, De Leon Springs State Park, Rock Springs at Kelly Park, and Wekiwa Springs State Park.

Go Golfing

Dad won’t lack for places to hit the links while he’s in Orlando. What really sets us apart, though, are pro-designed golf courses. For instance, Arnold Palmer’s layouts can be found at Shingle Creek Golf Club, Orange Lake Resort and Walt Disney World® Golf’s three courses, as well as Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, home of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.

Palmer also designed one of the three courses at Reunion Resort, with the others being dreamed up by Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. Another Nicklaus course can be played at Grand Cypress Golf Club. We have creations from Greg Norman (The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes) and Reese Jones (Waldorf Astoria® Golf Club), too, among other celebrated designers.

More importantly, this state-of-the-art facility has professional-grade courts where players of all ages and skill levels can play for free (pre-registration required). They even have full-size Pickleball hard courts!

Throw in the facility’s educational and training opportunities, including private lessons, and you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for dads who “love” tennis. The USTA National Campus is in Lake Nona, about 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
