Inside TRON Lightcycle / Run

Your journey into a new digital frontier begins in Tomorrowland, where you’ll pass beneath a dazzling, color-shifting canopy and be transported into The Grid. Lightcycles speed by overhead, accompanied by brilliant bursts of neon light and energizing music by legendary electronic music duo Daft Punk, who appeared as themselves in TRON: Legacy. Proceed to the games and climb aboard your Lightcycle — a unique motorcycle-style vehicle — to race with fellow users (Team Blue) and defeat fierce computer programs (Team Orange) in a high-tech battle.

TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the fastest coasters at any Disney park, reaching speeds of nearly 60 mph. With a high-speed launch and unique motorbike design that allows you to lean into the action, it’s easily one of the most thrilling rides at Magic Kingdom® Park. The ride features sharp turns, sudden drops and stops, all enhanced by an adrenaline-fueled soundtrack and brilliant visual effects.

Enhancing the cool factor, every rider gets their own individual Lightcycle, which you ride by leaning forward and gripping the handlebars. Back and calf restraints lock you safely in place, but offer some flexibility so you can ride out every twist and turn in style. If you are not comfortable in the standard Lightcycle, accessible bench-style seating with a traditional lap bar is also available.

How To Experience TRON: Lightcycle / Run

Demand will be high for this heavily anticipated new coaster, and there are a few things you’ll need to keep in mind as you prepare to enter The Grid.

Virtual Queue

The standby queue will not be available to guests when TRON Lightcycle / Run opens. In order to ride, you will need to join the attraction’s virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app. The virtual queue allows you the opportunity to enjoy other attractions in the park while you wait for your assigned boarding group to be called. When the time comes, simply return to the attraction entrance to join the physical queue and experience TRON Lightcycle / Run. Check the My Disney Experience app for daily opportunities and distribution times to join the virtual queue.

Note: A valid park pass reservation and theme park ticket are required to join the virtual queue for any attraction at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort. Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to participate in the experience. Boarding groups for a virtual queue are limited, subject to availability, and are not guaranteed. Not all boarding groups may be called to return, based on availability of the experience.

Lightning Lane

Bypass the physical queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run with the purchase of individual Lightning Lane passes when available. Available through the My Disney Experience app, these individually priced passes allow you to bypass the standby queue and enter via the Lightning Lane Entrance for a much shorter wait time. Pricing will vary depending on the day of your visit; check My Disney Experience for date-based pricing.

Note: TRON Lightcycle / Run will not be included with Disney Genie+ when the attraction first opens.

Lockers

TRON Lightcycle / Run is the first ride at Walt Disney World Resort to employ mandatory digitized lockers for all of your loose items. No need for an Identity Disc here — your park ticket or MagicBand serves as the key to these sleek double-sided lockers. Stow your bags, ears, snacks and more for free, and remember to take your ticket with you when you ride. There is a small storage compartment at the front of each bike just large enough to store your phone, wallet and other small items as you blast through The Grid.

Accessibility

TRON Lightcycle Run is open to guests 48 inches and up who are in good health and able to transfer out of a wheelchair if needed. The seating and restraints on this attraction may prohibit guests of certain body shapes or sizes from riding. A test seat is available outside the attraction if you’d like to saddle up and test your comfort level before riding. See My Disney Experience for additional health and safety restrictions.

Enter The Grid

TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise will celebrate its grand opening at Walt Disney World Resort on April 4, 2023. Gear up for high-speed thrills, users: Out there is our destiny.
