Discover MICHELIN Guide dining, handcrafted goods and more fantastic fare at East End Market.

Updated March 13, 2025

At the physical and spiritual heart of Orlando’s vibrant Audubon Park Garden District, you’ll find a place where authentic local food, craftsmanship and vibes intersect: East End Market. With so much gourmet goodness, no surprise it’s a local favorite — or that it took center stage in “‘The Real’ Orlando” episode of Phil Rosenthal’s hit Netflix series, Somebody Feed Phil.

A Foodie Paradise

East End Market serves mouthwatering treasures from multiple innovative chefs in a sociable food hall atmosphere. Expect MICHELIN Guide fare, artisanal cheeses and meats, plenty of locally sourced ingredients … and the most decadent cookies you will likely ever have the pleasure of devouring.

Gideon's Bakehouse
Gideon’s Bakehouse

The latter come from Gideon’s Bakehouse, where half-pound cookies, cakes and other desserts are always handmade. Founded by Steve Lewis and inspired by margin notes found in an antique cookbook, these sweet treats are so popular that many varieties tend to sell out before end of day. Plan to arrive early if you don’t want to miss out — or head to the second Gideon’s location at Disney Springs®.

For MICHELIN dining, belly up to Bib Gourmand ramen bar DOMU, whose name means “a dream come true.” Described by Rosenthal as “Japan level” during his visit, this neighborhood gem blends authentic Japanese techniques with modern flair to create house-made noodles, inventive small plates and seasonal cocktails. Chef/owner Sean “Sonny” Nguyen, who also happens to be a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: South, says the concept was heavily inspired by ‘90s hip-hop.

Not the type to sit still for long, Nguyen also oversees two newer additions to East End Market’s portfolio: a traditional Japanese dining experience, the MICHELIN Recommended Gyukatsu Rose, and a tribute to Hawaii’s mom-and-pop poke shops, Rion’s Ocean Room.

Growing from a small deli case to a full-fledged counter service operation and online shop, Hinckley’s Fancy Meats is another must-visit for serious gastronomes — or anyone who loves a great sandwich. After opening for online sales, the very first order went to Sam Sifton, food editor for The New York Times, and it’s been full speed ahead ever since. Chef, owner and namesake Matt Hinckley uses what he describes as honest ingredients, including locally sourced meat, to produce outstanding sandwiches and charcuterie.

Owner/Chef Tonda Corrente of La Femme du Fromage

A self-taught chef and dedicated wine and cheese enthusiast, Tonda Corrente has infused her artisanal cheese shop, La Femme du Fromage, with a passion for food that goes far beyond the kitchen. Get moving with an all-day breakfast sandwich, featuring Corrente’s famous three-cheese blend. Or skip the morning meal and fill up with her award-winning grilled cheese creations. Baked specialties, flatbreads, salads, and cheese & charcuterie packages are also available. You can even opt for a private tasting in Orlando’s first speakcheesy, La Femme du Fromage Upstairs, above their main storefront.

Even More in Store

East End Market has other terrific tastes courtesy of an ever-evolving lineup of epicurean delights. Homemade biscuits, hearty breakfast burritos, traditional taiyaki (the iconic fish-shaped sweet street treats), specialty java, and a stylish cocktail lounge and scratch kitchen are all currently on the menu, and you never know what will pop up next.

What’s more, you can shop for hand-built, Florida-focused gifts at Freehand Goods, as well as handcrafted jewelry from Carla Poma. All of which is why I try to get over to East End Market as frequently as possible — and recommend you do the same.

Discover: Orlando Shopping

Still more boutique shopping, great eats and recreational opportunities can be found in the surrounding Audubon Park area, which is part of the Orlando Main Streets program.

One of the sweetest reasons to venture beyond East End Market is Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, whose main store is right across the street. (You’ll find other locations throughout Orlando.) Next door to the market, The Salty Donut can also satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooths with a rotating gourmet selection of its namesake treat.

Many other eateries are in the immediate area along with several independent retailers. These include a record shop, vintage clothing stores, boutiques with locally made merchandise, vintage furniture and home goods, booksellers, and more.

While you’re in Audubon Park, I also recommend visiting Harry P. Leu Gardens, located on the northwest edge of the district. You can easily spend hours strolling through this 50-acre botanical garden, which is bursting with color and unusual greenery.

Discover: Orlando Gardens

Take a guided tour of the Southern-style grounds or just run through the giant bamboo stalks, hyper-manicured lawns and camellias, which bloom from October through March. In fact, Leu Gardens’ camellia collection is the largest in the Southeast and one of the largest in the country.

If all that exploration leaves you hungry, great news: East End Market is right down the street. Hope to see you there soon!
