AJ Chocolate House

AJ Chocolate House was founded in 2002 in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the basement of their family home. They wanted to bring the best luxury chocolates for all to enjoy, so they chose to use the best quality chocolate there is: Belgian Couverture Chocolate. Today, you’ll find them just 20 minutes north of Orlando in stylish Winter Park.

They offer several decadent takes on this viral pistachio treat, including chocolate cake, thick and thin pistachio-kataifi chocolate bars, cheesecake, and strawberry cups. You can watch them fill your strawberry cup with chocolate at the counter. I love the uniqueness of their cake for the fact that they add a fruit layer along with chocolate, kataifi and pistachio.

Blue Amphora

Blue Amphora is in East Orlando near the Gateway District and is totally worth the trek for their incredible pastries and viral chocolate goodies. What started out as an at home baklava business has blossomed into a full Turkish cafe. Everything is made with so much love here and the owners are incredible humans.

Something that sets them apart is that they produce their own pistachio cream rather than using a premade variety. They serve chocolate-pistachio baklava and fresh strawberry cups with pistachio cream and chocolate.

Bora Bora Smoothie Cafe

Bora Bora Smoothie Cafe is a new hangout in the International Drive Entertainment District, and they only use fresh ingredients. This halal cafe offers a decadent crepe and strawberries with pistachio and chocolate cream, plus insane waffles, croffles, creative drinks, beautiful açaí and more.

My favorite thing I tried has to be the crepe. I mean, I really couldn't get enough of it. The texture of the kataifi made it impossible to stop eating. The strawberry cup is great too with all the layers so perfectly crafted together.

Chocolate Museum & Cafe

The Chocolate Museum & Cafe on International Drive offers daily tours and tasty treats. You’ll learn about cacao, find out the origins of chocolate and its rich history, see 25 solid chocolate sculptures, learn the history of chocolate, and see some antique machinery used to make this ever-popular treat. It ends in the tasting room, where you can sample some of the finest chocolates around the world.

They also sell Middle Eastern-inspired chocolate bars which are somewhere between between the thin and thick options I’ve tried. It was great quality.

Gelato-Go

Gelato-Go is a small gelato shop in Winter Garden, founded by two Italian brothers on a mission to bring the best of Italy to Florida. I’d say they succeeded! This small but mighty gelato shop has some of the creamiest, tastiest gelatos around. The quality is high and the flavors are very Italian. It reminded me a lot of the gelato I would have in Italy.

Their take on the viral chocolate bar trend transforms classic flavors into gelato and it’s 10/10. It tastes just like the bar. There are so many layers to it and I am craving another as I type this. It’s the only one of its kind that I’ve found in Orlando.

Light on the Sugar

Light on the Sugar is well known for their puff pastries and stunning desserts. Naturally, their take on this trend is superb. The cream puffs are stuffed with a light pistachio cream and the katayif on top makes it a perfect experience.

Melt n Dip

Melt n Dip is located on Restaurant Row near International Drive. When you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice is three large chocolate fountains with 100% Belgian chocolate, which Melt N Dip uses for all their creations. They have so many takes on this viral chocolate trend, including chocolate crepes, lattes, strawberry cups, affogato, and bars. Plus, their chocolate bar is thin.

Of all the versions I’ve tried in Orlando, this is probably the most authentic to the original viral chocolate bar. The crepe is cooked very well and they do not shortchange you on the filling of pistachio cream, pistachios and kadayif. The strawberries for the cups are very fresh and the latte was a nice little treat.

Ô Bon Chocolatier

Ô Bon Chocolatier is a chocolate shop from the same owners as Light on the Sugar, and it recently opened in East End Market in the Audubon Park Garden District. Here, you can find over 20 meticulously handcrafted bon bon flavors, plus chocolate bars, strawberry cups and a latte all inspired by this viral pistachio treat.

Light on the Sugar’s French chocolatier has been with them since day one and oversees the creation of these chocolates, which are truly beautiful and delicious. This is one of the only places in Orlando with a latte version of the viral chocolate bar, featuring pistachios and kadayif throughout the drink and not just at the top.

Orlando Nuts

Orlando Nuts was the first business to bring this viral chocolate trend to Orlando. They are minutes from Walt Disney World® Resort and offer many different desserts. Their chocolate bars are thick but melt in your mouth. The katayif filling is so crunchy, and I loved the consistency. You can get the chocolate as a big bar or in a donut shape. They also have the strawberry cups if you prefer something lighter.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack has jumped on the viral dessert trend with a limited-edition pistachio shake at ICON Park® and Vineland Pointe. They line the cup with a chocolate outer shell, then fill it with a pistachio shake with layers of nuts and kadayif throughout.

I got a healthy portion of both with every sip I took. The chocolate shell breaks when you when you crack the cup, which is a fun feature! This shake is only available in store, so no delivery orders and they currently only sell 50 of them per day.

The French Cafe

The French Cafe is located in the quiet Winter Garden suburb of Hamlin and boasts a wide variety of French pastries and dishes. They sell the strawberry cup with pistachio cream as well as a crepe made with white chocolate, pistachio cream, and kunafa. This cup is a bit smaller than most other places, but its proximity to Walt Disney World is a definite plus.

Editor’s note: Not sure what kind of chocolate we’re talking about here? Let’s just say it’s a travel destination that rhymes with “the buy.”
