Unique Transportation at Walt Disney World® Resort

Walt Disney World® Resort Monorail

Possibly the most iconic ride in Orlando, the Walt Disney World® Resort Monorail system has been around since the resort opened on October 1, 1971. Take the Express Monorail directly to Magic Kingdom® Park or ride the Resort Monorail line to explore additional stops at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Both lines also stop at the Transportation & Ticket Center, where you can catch the EPCOT® monorail to explore destinations far in the future, across the pond, and even out-of-this-world.

Disney Skyliner

Another iconic option is the Disney Skyliner, a colorful gondola ride that connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and the International Gateway station at EPCOT to four nearby resorts. Soar over beaches, roads and wooded areas as you travel to and from themed locales like Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. EPCOT-area hotels like Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort are also accessible from the International Gateway station.

If whizzing monorails and high-flying gondolas aren’t enough to impress you, Walt Disney World also has a robust water transportation system. Take the Magic Kingdom Park ferry boat for a nostalgic sail across the Seven Seas Lagoon, travel halfway around World Showcase in pastel-colored Friendship Boats, or explore free water transportation from Disney Springs®, EPCOT or Magic Kingdom to select Disney Resorts Collection hotels in the area.
