What’s New in 2022: Upcoming Attraction Openings  

Orlando kicked off 2022 by opening two world-record-setting attractions at ICON Park and has no plans to slow down with a brand new theme park, launch coaster and acoustically perfect music hall opening within the next two months. Find more info about what’s new in 2022 here.  

Now Open 

  • The Orlando Slingshot™ and Orlando Free Fall™ – two world-record-setting attractions – opened at the end of December. The Orlando Slingshot™ stands at 300 feet, making it the world’s tallest slingshot. The two-tower attraction launches two riders out of an “exploding volcano,” straight up into the sky, reaching speeds of 100 mph. The Orlando Free Fall™ at ICON Park stands at 430 feet, making it the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower. 

Coming Soon  

  • Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts opens Jan. 14 in the heart of downtown Orlando. The facility achieves an N1 sound rating - the lowest level at which humans can detect sound. 

  • The world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park opens Feb. 24 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The standalone theme park will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, fun live shows, themed playscapes and water play areas. 

  • Ice Breaker, SeaWorld Orlando’s first launch coaster, opens Feb. 18. The ride features four launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch with a 93-foot-tall spike with 100-degree angle, the steepest vertical drop in Florida.

  • Orlando Cat Cafe will offer their very popular "Valentine's Day High Tea With Kitties” on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 2-4pm.   

  • Bites and Bubbles, which serves American cuisine “with a French kiss,” is offering a four-course, pre-fixe dinner on their rooftop patio for $99 per person, available Feb. 12-14.  

  • Morimoto Asia will offer an 8-course Valentine’s Day Chef’s Tasting Menu for $555 per couple, including amuse bouche and dessert with offerings including oysters, sushi, A-5 Wagyu, lobster and Szechuan-spiced Colorado lamb.  

Orlando’s Spring Theme Park Festivals 

From a festival of the arts and food extravaganza to daily Mardi Gras celebrations, The Theme Park Capital of the World’s popular annual spring festivals will be in full bloom this spring: 

  • Walt Disney World Resort’s EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, the celebration of the best in visual, culinary, and performing arts, returns Jan. 14 – Feb. 21. The event welcomes back the popular DISNEY ON BROADWAY concert series.  

  • Universal’s Mardi Gras returns Feb. 5 - April 24. The family-friendly version of the iconic Big Easy bash brings back the event’s most celebrated, fan-favorite experiences to Universal Studios Florida – including its nighttime parade and star-studded live concerts (select nights).  

  • SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival will return weekends Feb. 4 – May 8. Guests have the opportunity to sample their way through the park and discover globally inspired flavors while enjoying local craft beers and beverages from around the world along with live performances.
