Updated for 2018! New Year’s Eve is a great time to be in Orlando. Whether you want to ring in the New Year at our world-famous theme parks, prefer a laid-back evening with family and friends, or just want to go wild when the ball drops, Orlando is sure to have your perfect celebration on Dec. 31.

Family-Friendly New Year's Celebrations in Orlando

Year-ending family fun abounds in Orlando thanks to special New Year’s Eve celebrations at Walt Disney World® Resort, Universal Orlando® Resort, SeaWorld® Orlando and LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, as well as at attractions, resorts and restaurants throughout the destination. (Travel tip: Theme park celebrations are included with regular admission unless otherwise noted!)

Walt Disney World Resort

Magic Kingdom®: The year-ending “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks can be viewed at 6:30 and 11:50 p.m. on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. On both nights, Frontierland and Tomorrowland will also host New Year’s Dance Parties from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Epcot®: The World Showcase will feature DJs, live music, dancing and the flavors of the world, with each pavilion’s clock striking “midnight” at different times. Guests can also enjoy live music at American Gardens Theatre, and a countdown to midnight will be prefaced by Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at 11:40 p.m.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios®: Disney’s movie-focused theme park will ring in 2019 with a year-ending fireworks spectacular.

Disney Springs: Enjoy live musicians, DJs and dancing for free on Dec. 31, as well as specials at Disney Springs’ restaurants and nightspots.

Disney's Contemporary Resort: Eat, dance and play games with your favorite Disney-Pixar characters at this resort’s all-ages Pixar Party. Pricing: $190 per guest.

Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Studios Florida: On Dec. 31, Universal Orlando Resort’s original theme park will say goodbye to the old and hello to the new with live music, party zones, character meet-and-greets and Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration. Guests can also look forward to pyrotechnic displays, confetti showers and lots of party favors.

Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando: The Kitchen at Hard Rock Hotel is serving a New Year’s Eve buffet from 5-11 p.m. Pricing: $125 for adults, $55 for children ages 3-9, free for children under 3.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando: From 8:30 p.m. to midnight, this resort’s New Year’s Eve Party on the Piazza will include DJs, dancing, kids’ crafts and activities, face-painting, a balloonist and a sparkling wine toast. Pricing: $105 for adults, $35 for children ages 3-9, free for children under 3.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando: Head to this resort’s Islands Dining Room from 5-11 p.m. for a New Year’s Eve buffet featuring Universal Orlando Resort characters, a face-painter, a balloonist, a musician and a hula dancer. Pricing: $85 for adults, $35 for children ages 3-9, free for children under 3.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando: Sapphire Falls’ Amatista Cookhouse will have a New Year’s Eve buffet from 5-10 p.m., including a face-painter, a balloonist and appearances by Universal Orlando Resort characters. Pricing: $58 for adults, $26 for children ages 3-9, free for children under 3.

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort: This resort’s Bayliner Diner is hosting a New Year’s Eve Party Spectacular, which is free to attend and includes face-painters, a balloon artist and a midnight balloon drop. The event runs from 8 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., and a dining special is available starting at 5 p.m. Pricing (dining only): $16.99 for adults, $7.99 for children ages 3-9, free for children under 3.

SeaWorld Orlando

In addition to midnight fireworks, SeaWorld’s aquatic-themed New Year’s Eve party will have musical performances, interactive DJ stations and much more. For an additional upgrade, you can get reserved seating for the fireworks show.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Running daily from Dec. 26-31, the kids-focused New Year’s Eve party at LEGOLAND will feature building activities, dancing and fireworks. And on Dec. 31, a giant LEGO brick will drop at a kid-friendly hour to welcome 2019.

Adults-Only New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Orlando

If you’re 21 and up and coming to Orlando without kids or have a sitter, you’re invited to unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebrations for adults all over town.

EVE at Universal CityWalk: General admission to this electrifying New Year’s celebration includes access to six clubs, live bands, DJs and Orlando’s biggest outdoor dance floor. Guests can also feast on unlimited gourmet cuisine and purchase exclusive signature drinks. Pricing: $98.99-$194.99 per guest.

Countdown to Midnight at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: In addition to the all-ages Pixar Party, this Walt Disney World property is hosting this celebration for adults. And if you’re visiting with kids, they can have a blast at this event’s Pixar Play Zone. Pricing: Countdown to Midnight, $275 per guest; Pixar Play Zone, $65 per guest.

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando: This event will take place at Sapphire Falls’ Strong Water Tavern from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m., complete with live music, dancing, a champagne toast and balloon drop. Pricing: $70.80 per guest.

New Year’s Eve Masquerade at 3NINE: Enjoy a chef-inspired menu, two full-service bars, a high-energy atmosphere and lots of quality people-watching at this event, hosted at Rosen Plaza Hotel on International Drive. The party starts at 9 p.m. Pricing: $20 per guest for general admission with upgrades available.

Howl at the Moon: Whether you choose from the “Just Dance” package, which includes a premium open bar, a complimentary champagne toast and party favors, or the general-admission package, you’ll have a great time on New Year’s Eve at this dueling piano bar on International Drive. Pricing: $65 per guest for “Just Dance,” $20 for general admission, and seated packages are available.

Downtown Orlando & Winter Park

New Year’s Eve Block Party at Wall St. Plaza: Free access to all seven of this entertainment complex’s themed bars, along with lightshows, dance parties and a big countdown to 2019, make this downtown Orlando’s largest New Year’s Eve bash. Pricing: Free to attend.

New Year’s Eve Gala at The Alfond Inn: From 8 p.m. – 12:15 a.m., this stately hotel in Winter Park will provide guests with a premium open bar, a champagne toast, chef-attended stations and live entertainment, as well as streaming of the famous Times Square ball drop in New York. Reservations are required. Pricing: $150 per guest.
