Orlando Magic (October – April)

Kicking off their season in October, the Orlando Magic take to the court for over 40 home games, including regular and preseason games. A member of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division, the Magic have won six division titles and two conference titles. Make sure to check out the Magic’s schedule the next time that you are in Orlando; they may be facing off against your own favorite NBA team.

Home games take place at the Kia Center in downtown Orlando’s Parramore District. The fun is not limited to the game, with enticing restaurants and bars, a kids’ play area, and halftime entertainment delighting fans of all ages. The Magic’s impact also extends beyond the court, as they give more than $2 million each year to Central Florida causes and organizations.

Orlando Valkyries (January – May) 

Competing in the new Pro Volleyball Federation, the premier women’s professional volleyball league in North America, the Orlando Valkyries host 12 home matches at the Addition Financial Arena. The team will also host special themed matches such as Sunday Fundays which will feature family friendly and kids-centered activities such as sign making, face painting, and interactive games.

Orlando City Soccer Club & Orlando Pride (March – October)

Taking the field at Inter&Co Stadium in downtown Orlando, the Orlando City Soccer Club captivates dedicated fans with their strong performance as an MLS (Major League Soccer) team. Established in 2010, the team joined the MLS in 2015 and won their first trophy last year at the 2022 U.S. Open Cup Final.

Also calling Inter&Co Stadium their home, Orlando City Pride competes in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League). Off the field, the team has been a strong advocate for equality initiatives locally and nationally.

Knightro Leads the UCF Knights Into Battle

University of Central Florida (UCF) Knights: NCAA Division I Football (September – December)

A member of the Big 12 Conference and competing within the Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA, the UCF Knights defend their home turf in several home games at FBC Mortgage Stadium (aka The Bounce House) on UCF’s main campus. With six conference championship wins, six division titles and a passionate fanbase, their gameplay is thrilling to watch.

Orlando Solar Bears (October – April)

The Orlando Solar Bears are a mid-level professional ice hockey team in the South Division of ECHL’s Eastern Conference. Affiliated with the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lighting and the American Hockey League’s Syracuse Crunch, the Orlando Solar Bears host 36 home games at the Kia Center.

The atmosphere is fun for the whole family, with interactive cheers, dancing on the jumbotron, and appearances from Shades, the Solar Bears’ mascot. A great first live sporting event for kids, the games are also one of the most affordable ways to get in on the competitive fun in Orlando, with many seats starting at $15.

More Ways to Watch Football

Orlando is ready for kickoff with plenty of ways to watch professional football. At Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defend their home turf during the NFL season. Since joining the NFL in 1976, the team has won two Super Bowl Championships, most recently in 2020. The season lasts from September to February with plenty of opportunities for you to see them play live.

Here in Orlando, football fans can watch the Orlando Guardians play at Camping World Stadium. A professional minor league team, the Guardians have been members of the XFL League since 2020 with their season lasting from February to May. Additionally, the Orlando Predators, a professional indoor football team, host their home games at the Kia Center. The Predators are part of the Arena Football League and start their season in April and end in August.

Major NCAA Football Games (November – January)

In addition to the UCF Knights home games, Orlando hosts several major NCAA football games annually. The excitement starts in November with the 2023 Florida Blue Florida Classic at Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando’s West Lakes Market Street District. Watch the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats face off against the Florida A&M University Rattlers in the nation’s largest football game between two Historically Black College/University (HBCU) schools. The festivities continue off the field, with standout performances from both school’s marching bands and celebratory tailgating.

Then in December, Camping World Stadium hosts the 2023 Pop Tarts® Bowl. The game features the top non-CFP (College Football Playoffs) selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), inclusive of Notre Dame, and the second non-CFP selection from the Big 12.

Celebrate the New Year with the 2024 Cheez-It® Citrus Bowl, held annually in January on New Year’s Day. The seventh oldest collegiate bowl game in the country, the bowl hosts the top Big Ten and SEC teams from outside the CFP series of bowls to face off against each other at Camping World Stadium.

NFL Pro Bowl Games Presented by Verizon (February 2024)

Returning to Orlando, the NFL Pro Bowl Games will be held in February at Camping World Stadium. This multi-day event pits 88 of the top players from the league against each other in unique and entertaining skills competitions. The festivities culminate in a flag football matchup with the teams coached by Peyton and Eli Manning.

The Games are an exciting way to celebrate the NFL season and allow players to have fun with their family, friends, teammates and fans.

Tournaments at United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus (Year-Round)

Are you a fan of tennis? If so, you’re in luck as the USTA National Campus has 100 tennis courts filled with competitive gameplay and ways to expand your tennis skills, plus pickleball and padel courts. Located in Lake Nona, the state-of-the-art facilities host live sporting events year-round, from many premier national and international tournaments to regional and collegiate competitions.

The campus also offers various playing and training opportunities for players of all ages. From top U.S. tennis players to beginners, there is room for everyone to practice their forehand. You can also reserve a court for your own match for free.

Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard (March)

One of only five tournaments to be given the invitational status by the PGA (Professional Golf Association), the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard occurs every March and showcases some of the PGA Tour’s biggest names and rising stars. The tournament occurs at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge, with proceeds benefitting the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, both here in Orlando.

The tournament has become a top spectator event for golf fans around the world, with many fans traveling from around the world to attend. An important tradition has become the red cardigan sweater given to the winner of the tournament in honor of Arnold Palmer.
