Female Heroes Take Charge at Orlando Attractions

Meet the heroic leading ladies starring at theme parks and attractions around Orlando.

Orlando is home to scores of powerful heroes ... and we're not just talking about men! Female legends are standing tall at theme parks and attractions throughout the destination, providing magically empowering experiences for women and girls — not to mention unforgettable meet-and-greets for all.

From "The Redhead's" new role at Walt Disney World® Resort, to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament's first-ever ruling Queen, to the Justice League's Wonder Woman at Madame Tussauds Orlando and many others, here's your guide to the leading ladies of Orlando!

Female Stars at Walt Disney World Resort

After decades of being auctioned at Magic Kingdom's Pirates of the Caribbean, the famous Redhead — now officially known as Redd — made headlines in 2018 when she flipped the script by becoming the auctioneer. Now that she's in charge, the auction deals in objects and livestock instead of humans. What's more, Redd isn't the only powerful female at Disney's premier Orlando theme park.

Just a short walk from Pirates of the Caribbean, you’ll find the stars of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast in Fantasyland, where they hold court at the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction and Enchanted Tales With Belle live storytelling show, respectively. You can also come face-to-face with strong women like Merida, Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland and many others at scheduled character encounters throughout the park.

Disney's Epcot has a wide range of character encounters, too, starting with Frozen's Anna and Elsa, who also star in the park's Frozen Ever After attraction. Elsewhere in Epcot, you can look forward to meeting grande dames like Mulan, Princess Jasmine, Snow White, Mary Poppins and Daisy Duck, among others.

If you didn't get enough of Ariel at Magic Kingdom, head to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid attraction. Finally, Pocahontas and Doc McStuffins are available for meet-and-greets at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Female Stars at Universal Orlando® Resort

Harry Potter fans, take note: Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees perform daily in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida! Part of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando® Resort, the live show has a special Christmas edition during the holiday season.

At Universal's Islands of Adventure, you can help the X-Men's Storm conquer the evil Magneto at Storm Force Accelatron. You'll also find Storm and her teammate Rogue patrolling the streets of the park's Marvel Super Hero Island. Talk about an electrifying encounter!

NINJAGO's Nya at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

The brave ninja warrior known as Nya didn't just star in The LEGO NINJAGO Movie — she's available for meet-and-greets at LEGOLAND Florida Resort's LEGO NINJAGO World! Nya also factors into LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, where kids and their parents shoot fireballs, lightning and more to help the NINJAGO crew defeat their foes.

Female Stars at Standalone Orlando Attractions

Wondering where to find Wonder Woman in Orlando? Look no further than Madame Tussauds at ICON Orlando 360! Portrayed by Gal Gadot, the star of DC Entertainment's Justice League debuted in 2018 along with Batman and Superman.

The titanic trio are also part of the attraction's most dynamic display to date, combining authentic replicas and live experiences for a heroic experience you won't soon forget. While you're there, make time for other female Madame Tussauds stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Marilyn Monroe and Madonna, to name a few.

Also in 2018, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament made history when a Queen replaced the dinner show's long-running King. Presented as the daughter of her predecessor, Medieval Times' current regent is giving women all-new reasons to cheer.

The Queen wasn't the only change at Medieval Times, which also gained hundreds of new costumes — including 200 fresh suits of armor — plus updated dialogue and storylines, resulting in a brand-new experience for guests. All of which makes us say: Long live the Queen!
