Exciting News Unveiled at Visit Orlando’s Business Insights Luncheon & Economic Forum
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting more than 1,000 industry and community leaders at Visit Orlando’s annual Business Insights Luncheon & Economic Forum. Unfortunately, a small electrical fire with the projection equipment forced us to clear the room and end the event a little early. The rest of the luncheon, however, was quite successful, and I enjoyed seeing so many of you there. In addition to providing information about the state of our industry and insights for the future, Visit Orlando was able to share several exciting announcements that will benefit our entire destination. Here are some of the highlights …
Introducing the ‘MORlando Challenge’
We all know there are A LOT of things to do in Orlando. But how long would it take to actually do them all? Over the next four months, three Visit Orlando team members will find out, embarking on the ultimate Orlando vacation experience. Throughout their journey, they will snap photos and record videos as they travel to theme parks, attractions, outdoor adventure, nightlife entertainment, shopping and more. Follow their adventures on Visit Orlando's Instagram and YouTube channels.
Charities Chosen for Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining
Participants at yesterday’s luncheon also helped us welcome the two charities that will receive funds from Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining, which starts today and runs through Sept. 30 at 120-plus restaurants. This year, $1 from each meal will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness Greater Orlando and Lighthouse Central Florida. NAMI, a grassroots support network, will be able to expand its “Ending the Silence” program, which helps raise awareness and change perceptions among teenagers about mental health and suicide prevention. Lighthouse, which helps individuals with vision loss adjust to their reality with confidence, will use the funds to expand its early intervention programs for young children so they can adapt, integrate and enjoy active, productive lives.
