As we continue to re-open businesses throughout the greater Orlando region, it remains more important than ever to keep our focus on ensuring the health and safety of everyone who resides in or visits our destination. Through this pandemic, we have evolved in ways that have made our region safer and stronger – in how we do business, socialize, and show care for others. We all see some great examples and safety practices being adhered to – and we also have seen situations where we can do better.
Today, Mayor Demings announced that we are launching a multi-county, regional campaign, “Safer, Stronger, Together” – to call on local businesses and citizens to make a personal commitment to practice safety measures to control the spread of COVID-19.
The campaign originated from the work of the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force and was developed by Visit Orlando and the Orlando Economic Partnership at the request of Mayor Demings. It reflects input from an advisory team of more than 100 local leaders including Osceola, Lake and Seminole counties; large and small businesses; healthcare and local media.
We are asking our businesses to publicly, and visibly, commit to their customers that they will:
- Have hand sanitizer available
- Wear face coverings
- Practice good hygiene
- Follow social distancing and capacity guidelines
- Follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting
- Train employees on COVID-19 safety procedures
And we are asking our residents, as customers, to commit to:
- Wash or sanitize hands before entering a business
- Wear face coverings
- Follow social distancing guidelines
- Not enter a business if I am sick, have a fever or other symptoms
- Avoid physical contact with staff and other guests
- Use a credit or debit card whenever possible
I encourage you to join this effort and visit our new website, www.DoYourPartORL.com, for a variety of tools to help your business, employees and customers. You will find flyers, posters, digital banners and social media graphics available in English, Spanish and Creole. Additional tools, such as "Orlando Promise" materials and examples of businesses “Doing their Part" are also available.
To highlight positive examples of businesses, Orange County will showcase on social and news media channels positive examples of companies that have made this commitment. The campaign also encourages consumers to positively reinforce these companies through their social media and online ratings platforms such as YELP.
In addition, we appreciate the many local media partners that have generously agreed to run public service announcements and donate advertising space to promote this campaign. We are also grateful to WFTV for producing this spot that you will see shared, on-air, from media partners throughout the region.
Please join us in this very important campaign and share this message with your clients, coworkers, family and friends. With the number of cases significantly increasing in our community, it is essential that we all stick to these guidelines and do all we can to be safer and stronger.
Please reach out to our team at email@example.com if you have questions or would like additional information on how this safety program can help your business.
Let’s all do our part,
President & CEO
