The 2018 holiday weekend will see the highest Thanksgiving travel volume in more than a dozen years, according to AAA. Over 54 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving, 2.5 million (4.8 percent) more than last year. Many travelers -- 48.5 million or 89 percent -- will drive to their destination despite paying the highest Thanksgiving gas prices in four years. Orlando is the top Thanksgiving destination, based on AAA's online and travel agency air and tour bookings, followed by New York and Anaheim, Calif.
