Between celebrity chefs and local James Beard Award nominees, global cuisines, farm-to-table freshness, and more than 5,000 restaurants, dining in Orlando is always an adventure — but that doesn’t mean it has to take a bite out of your wallet. So if you’re craving food that’s big on taste but small on price, here are some mouthwatering eats that will leave you satisfied without breaking the bank in Orlando!
Budget-Friendly Dining in Orlando’s Tourism District
Bartaco

Starting at just $2.50 each, their fresh taco creations are perfect for vegetarians, too, with choices like Portobello With Queso Fresco, Cauliflower and Falafel.
Beth’s Burger Bar
After becoming an Orlando favorite, Beth’s brought their beloved burgers to the tourism district with a storefront on Universal Boulevard, close to Universal Orlando Resort, plus another location in south Orlando. The recipient of multiple “Best Local Burger” awards, they offer mouthwatering burgers and handcrafted milkshakes, and everything on the menu is under $10.
Mrs. Potato
Showcased on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and less than 10 minutes from Universal Orlando Resort, this restaurant focuses on Brazilian cuisine, particularly a variety of rösti and baked potato dishes, priced at $8-$10 on average. Other menu items include grilled chicken and steak entrées, burgers, empanadas, and desserts.

Tapas-style small plates, priced at $2-$6 each, make trying a little of everything easy, with options like sweet plantains, Argentinian empanadas and mini tequeños ready to fill you up.
Budget-Friendly Dining Throughout Orlando
Banh Mi Nha Trang
At the border of downtown Orlando and our Mills 50 dining and nightlife district, this mom-and-pop shop creates authentic Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches with a variety of toppings. Locally famous, the eatery is also shockingly affordable with all subs priced at $5.50 or less, but keep in mind that they accept cash only.
Beefy King
Serving their signature hot, fresh, roast beef sandwiches for more than 50 years in Orlando’s Milk District, close to downtown, this family-owned and operated establishment has expanded to turkey, pastrami, corned beef and other favorites, with sandwiches starting at just $3.55. Wash it all down with a hand-spun milkshake, and don’t forget the Beefy Spuds (aka tater tots)!
Gringos Locos
With four downtown Orlando locations to choose from, including one at the Amway Center, this local favorite sticks to a simple menu of fresh tacos, burritos and sides. The perfect late-night meal, their Double D is a queso-filled soft tortilla wrapped around a crunchy taco for $3.39. Visit daily from 4-8 p.m. to enjoy Happy Hour with $2 tacos.
Hot Dog Heaven
Named the Best Hot Dog in Florida for 2018 by TheDailyMeal.com, this venue east of downtown Orlando offers authentic Chicago hot dogs for less than $4 each, and a variety of other dog options are all under $5. Chili dogs, jalapeno and cheddar dogs, and even Italian chicken sausages are available, along with sides like French fries, coleslaw and baked beans.
King Bao
Part of Orlando’s Mills 50 district, just north of downtown, this option serves fluffy, steamed buns with various fillings, each for less than $4. Not quite a taco, not quite a wrap, bao choices range from savory to sweet. Two of our favorites are the Hogzilla, featuring thick-cut braised pork belly, and the Tarzan, a fried bao with Nutella, bananas and powdered sugar.
Mamak Asian Street Food
Head to this Mills 50 restaurant for a modern interpretation of classic Asian cuisine at an affordable price point. Authentic flavors include a mix of origins, such as Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, with dishes like Yangzhou Fried Rice, Satay and Korean Ramen. Small plates are around $4-$6 and perfect for sharing, while full-sized dishes are usually $8-$10.
Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria
Located east of downtown Orlando next to Orlando Executive Airport, this local legend offers a blend of delicious sandwiches, side salads, sweets and loose-leaf teas. Try the Mama Ling Ling’s Thanksgiving sandwich, a famous favorite with turkey, gouda, stuffing, ginger cranberry chutney, mashed potatoes and creamed cheese with a side of gravy for $9.50.
Se7en Bites
Beloved by locals and visited by Guy Fieri for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, this eatery in Orlando’s Milk District, just east of downtown, creates modern twists on Southern comfort foods, using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. Everything on the regular menu can be had for less than $10, including breakfast, lunch, dessert and brunch favorites like Biscuits & Gravy, Chicken Pot Pie and more.
Sticky Rice
Specializing in Lao street food, this casual restaurant is just east of Mills 50. Items on the menu, including richly flavored options like lemongrass pork sausages, spicy papaya salad and mango sticky rice, are $5 or less each — and not counting beverages, you can buy one of everything for just $61!
Tako Cheena
A unique Orlando original, and located in the Mills 50 district, this fusion restaurant brings together Asian and Latin American flavors. Specialty “takos” include Thai Peanut Chicken and Indian Yellow Curry, while other interesting combinations, like a Banh Mi Hot Dog or Korean Burrito, are also available, all for $10 or less per item.
