Get details on the revamped Incredible Hulk coaster at Universal Orlando Resort.

The giant and green, extreme roller coaster that historically towers above Universal Islands of Adventure is smashing its way back from an extensive renovation. Opening later this summer, The Incredible Hulk roller coaster is roaring back to life with a brand-new storyline, a new ride vehicle and new attraction entrance according to details released by Universal Orlando Resort.

By the time it opens, the attraction will have been made over from top to bottom with huge changes that will be immediately noticed by fans of this steely beast. As guests enter the ride, they will pass underneath the Incredible Hulk himself holding up pieces of the coaster's track that were in fact salvaged from the original ride.

Riders who are familiar with the former version of this attraction will be thrilled with an entirely new ride vehicle that is sporting a sleek and modern look. A brand-new, in-seat audio system will pump the original ride score created by Patrick Stump, front man for internationally renowned rock band, Fall Out Boy. The slingshot launch that fans love so much will feature a new tunnel complete with new special effects.

The new storyline, which plays out in the ride's new queue, places guests inside a new scientific experiment led by one of the Hulk's arch-enemies, General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross. Inside the queue, guests will come across a variety of bio-radiological experiments and high-tech equipment. Taking off of an element from the queue line for the Hogwarts train where guests "disappear" as they enter track 9 1/2, this attraction also features a special effect as guest witness riders ahead of them undergoing the "Hulk-a-fication" process.

An opening date has yet to be announced other than confirmation from Universal Orlando Resort that the ride will reopen late this summer. Keep checking back to Visit Orlando's blog and social media for more information as it is released to us.
