Still in the midst of the dynamic Broadway in Orlando inaugural season at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the 2016-17 line up of shows to perform in the Walt Disney Theater have been announced. Shows include fan favorites and award-winning productions in Orlando's hub for performing arts.
Here is the list of shows coming to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts beginning in October:
THE ILLUSIONSISTS — LIVE FROM BROADWAYTM, Oct. 4-9, 2016
This live magic show features hilarious tricks, death-defying stunts and other outrageous and astonishing acts.
THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, Nov. 1-6, 2016
This new play adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel is the only non-musical performance for this season. The story is about fifteen-year-old Christopher who has an extraordinary brain and is under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog. He sets out to identify the true culprit.
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, Dec. 13-18, 2016
This new hit musical about an American soldier and a French girl in a war-torn European city features the unforgettable works from George and Ira Gershwin. The four-time Tony Award-winning production earned more awards on Broadway than any other musical in the 2014-2015 season.
WICKED, January 11-29, 2017
Returning to Orlando, but premiering at the Dr. Phillips Center is the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, long before Dorothy dropped in. Follow the surprising tale of an unlikely friendship between the misunderstood Elphaba and the popular Glinda.
A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER, Feb. 7-12, 2017
Getting away with murder can be so much fun in this musical comedy about Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by eliminating the eight relatives. Juggling multiple love interests, Monty must be mindful of the threat of going to jail.
DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID, March 7-12, 2017
Based on Disney's hit animated feature, this live musical brings to the stage all of the movie's beloved characters. The show features all the favorite songs like "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World," as well as new songs written by Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken.
MATILDA THE MUSICAL, May 9-14, 2017

FINDING NEVERLAND, June 6-11, 2017
Based on the film staring Johnny Depp, this new musical tells the story behind one of the world's most beloved characters: Peter Pan. With a little bit of pixie dust and a lot of faith, the story takes a monumental leap, leaving behind old-world London in search for Neverland.
