Jan. 1: VRBO Citrus Bowl

Held at Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando, the country’s seventh-oldest collegiate bowl game will feature Michigan vs. Alabama. Join the fun and become part of a rich history that began in 1947!

Jan. 16-20: North Shore Birding Festival

Featuring 37 field trips and three keynotes, this annual festival from the Orange Audubon Society highlights one of the region’s premier birding hotspots: the Lake Apopka North Shore. The field trips also offer more than birding, including photography, kayaking and even a golf cart excursion. The festival itself is free, but all field trips and keynotes, except for Jan. 16’s keynote, require paid registration. Proceeds benefit the Orange Audubon Society’s nature and environmental center fund.

Jan. 22-26: NFL Pro Bowl Week

For the fourth straight year, the NFL Pro Bowl Presented by Verizon is returning to Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando, and it isn’t coming alone! From Jan. 22-25, enjoy a free, family-friendly football festival at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World® Resort courtesy of the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl Experience.

During that week, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will also host AFC and NFC Team Practices & Fan Viewings (Jan. 22-25), plus the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl Skills Showdown (Jan. 22), among other events. And on Jan. 25, you can join the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl Pep Rally at Disney Springs® ahead of the big game on Jan. 26. Don’t have tickets yet? Jan. 25 – Feb. 2: 31st Annual Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and Humanities (aka ZORA!™ Festival)

First presented in 1990, ZORA! Festival is a multi-day, multi-disciplinary, intergenerational event composed of public talks, museum exhibitions, theatrical productions, arts-education programming and a three-day Outdoor Festival of the Arts. The event takes place primarily in Eatonville, about 10 miles north of downtown Orlando, and throughout Orange County.

This extravaganza, which comes free with park admission, starts with a magical holiday experience at Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, including Diagon Alley™ at Universal Studios Florida and Hogsmeade™ at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

You can also look forward to Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s at Universal Studios Florida, and the Grinchmas™ Who-liday Spectacular, a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic holiday tale, at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Through Jan. 5: Holiday Celebrations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® & Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park

Time is running out to experience holiday décor and celebrations at these Walt Disney World® Resort theme parks, all included with admission! At Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, enjoy holiday decorations at Toy Story Land, the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! holiday spectacular, a laser projection show on The Hollywood Tower Hotel and falling “snow” as part of Sunset Seasons Greetings, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along. You can also join the stars of ABC’s Prep & Landing as they rescue Santa Claus.

Meanwhile, the first-ever holiday celebration at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park includes a winter wonderland at Discovery Island, Donald’s Dino-Bash and Chip ‘n Dale’s Holiday Hoopla Dance at DinoLand U.S.A., India’s Diwali (aka Festival of Lights) at Asia, and a cheerful presentation at the village of Harambe in Africa. Even Pandora — The World of Avatar is getting into the spirit, and Tree of Life Awakenings features a new series of wintry tales complemented by heartwarming music.

Jan. 17 – Feb. 24: Epcot® International Festival of the Arts

The annual Epcot® International Festival of the Arts at Walt Disney World Resort invites you to immerse yourself in the visual, culinary and performing arts in ways that only Disney can offer, including live concerts and art performances, workshops, art signings and much more. Best of all, the festival is included with park admission!

For the visual arts, explore must-see galleries and professional workshops, plus Festival Markets where you can purchase artwork and related merchandise. You can also become part of some of the most famous art from around the world courtesy of Artful Photo Ops throughout the park, or even grab a paintbrush and help bring a giant paint-by-number mural to life at World Showcase Plaza!

Performing arts include the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, live performance art, acrobatics and gravity-defying feats of strength, amazing living statues, and more. For the culinary arts, bite into colorful fare available for purchase at Food Studios in the World Showcase and Future World, or take a technicolor tour of a vibrant array of delicious dishes that culminates in a colorful culinary prize with the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.

Last but not least, this event will have much for kids and their families, including Figment’s Brush With the Masters Scavenger Hunt, a Hands-On Wall Mural and the Animation Academy — offering the chance to take a drawing class taught by actual Disney artists multiple times each day!

Jan. 24-25: Rock the Universe at Universal Orlando Resort

During this separately ticketed weekend of faith and fun, experience two nights of powerful performances from Christian music’s brightest stars at Universal Studios Florida. Lift your hands and let your heart soar with superstars like TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, Newsboys, Switchfoot and more!

In addition to two main stages, Rock the Universe features the FanZone Presented by Coca-Cola®, where you can enjoy autograph sessions with select artists, live music from DJ Promote, and performances by up-and-coming acts. You can also look forward to the Saturday Ceremony, featuring a special message and moving music from one of the headliners, and the Sunday Morning Worship Service, which wraps up the weekend with youth from around the country.

Jan. 25: Inaugural SeaWorld Rescue Run

Benefiting the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, SeaWorld Orlando’s first-ever run invites you to enjoy the relaxing ambience of the park’s picturesque pathways and glimpses of SeaWorld’s animals before crossing the finish line at Shamu® Stadium. The event also features a fun-packed Kids Run for participants ages 7 and under, medals for all participants, and plenty of surprises along they way — plus an exclusive Killer Whale Show at the conclusion!
