In 2018, Orlando — Halloween Vacation Capital— is scaring up 78 days of Halloween events for children and adults alike.

Get ready to paint the town orange this Halloween as world-famous theme parks and attractions transform into eerie delights for all ages in Orlando: Halloween Vacation Capital! With the nation's top Halloween events offering everything from mild, family-friendly chills to extreme, adults-only scares from Aug. 17 to Nov. 3, Orlando is sure to have the perfect celebration for you.

Eerie Halloween Events for All Ages in Orlando

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort (Select Nights, Aug. 17 – Oct. 31)

Disney's Magic Kingdom comes alive with Halloween entertainment for the whole family at this separate-ticketed event. In addition to special shows such as the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show and Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the celebration will give Halloween makeovers to Mad Tea Party, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain.

Visitors are encouraged to wear costumes without masks, trick-or-treat around the park and encounter favorite Disney characters — including some you can only see at this party!

Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando (Weekends, Sept. 22 – Oct. 28)

Immerse yourself in a "fantas-sea" that includes up-close animal encounters, a dance party, trick-or-treating, playful "pumpkin fish" and aqua-themed arts and crafts, all included with regular admission. You can also enjoy live entertainment at Sesame Street's Countdown to Halloween and reserve seats for Count Von Count's Spooktacular Breakfast.

Brick or Treat at LEGOLAND Florida Resort (Weekends and Halloween, Oct. 6-31)

At this spooky, kooky celebration that's included with regular park admission, you can trick-or-treat, participate in LEGO building activities and even join a scavenger hunt through the park. Other highlights include the world's largest LEGO jack-o'-lantern, LEGO Halloween characters and a Halloween-themed firework show at Pirate's Cove.

Screamin' Green Hauntoween at Crayola Experience (October)

During this annual celebration, which is held on select days, kids can trick-or-treat while exploring 26 hands-on attractions, including creating "monsterrific" crafts and snapping character photos. Crayola Experience is close to International Drive at The Florida Mall.

Zoo Boo Bash at Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens (Oct. 20-21 & 27-28)

Presented by Orlando Health, and included with regular zoo admission, Zoo Boo Bash will expand to two weekends this year with plenty of fun surprises along the way. Kids are invited to wear costumes and trick-or-treat in a truly wild neighborhood during this family-friendly event, which also features fun additions like Boo Bowling, a selfie-worthy Monster Mural, larger-than-life bubbles at the Boo-ubble Show, daily costume contests, and a Pumpkin Smash.

Sinister Halloween Celebrations in Orlando for Teens and Up

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando® Resort (Select Nights, Sept. 14 – Nov. 3)

Marking the 28th edition of Universal Orlando Resort's famous, separate-ticketed event, this year's Halloween Horror Nights invites you to explore more haunted houses than ever with 10 total, including those based on Trick ‘r Treat and Stranger Things, as well as original creations such as The Harvest, Vamp '85: New Year's Eve and Twisted Tradition.

You won't be safe from spooks outside the houses either, as monsters prowl the streets in themed "Scare Zones." They'll include Revenge of Chucky and Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

Spooky Empire (Oct. 26-28)

Held at Caribe Royale All-Suite Hotel & Convention Center adjacent to International Drive, Spooky Empire is the largest horror convention in the nation. This year's celebrity guests will include David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Carl Weathers (Predator), KISS drummer Peter Criss, and Elvira herself, Cassandra Peterson, among many others. Other thrills and chills at the show will include tattoo and film festivals, a costume contest and a zombie walk.

A Petrified Forest (Select Nights, Oct. 5 – Nov. 3)

This unique, seasonal attraction offers a "boo-nanza" of outdoor scare trails, live music and entertainment, and food. They're about 20 minutes from downtown Orlando in Altamonte Springs. Costumes without masks are permitted, and organizers do not recommend bringing children under 12.

13 Films of Halloween at Enzian Theater (Oct. 2-30)

Located in Maitland, about 20 minutes north of downtown Orlando, the Enzian celebrates Halloween with this frightful film festival, tickets to which are available on an a-la-carte basis. Some of this year's standouts include Nosferatu (Oct. 13), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 15), Re-Animator (Oct. 20), Frankenweenie (Oct. 21 — also includes a Kid's Halloween Party!) and Horror of Dracula (Oct. 30). The films are complemented by 13 Cocktails of Halloween, which are themed around the movies and available from Enzian's Eden Barthroughout October.

1st Thursdays: Nerds in the City at Orlando Museum of Art (Oct. 4)

Take your sci-fi, fantasy and anime costumes out for a spin at this event, which will celebrate a wide range of "nerdy" interests. Jedi Knights, Hobbits, Time Lords, Dothraki and all other people of fictional backgrounds are welcome. The museum can be found in Loch Haven Park just 10 minutes from downtown Orlando.
