Parades. Live Music. Cajun cuisine. Roller Coasters? Yes! The flare and fun of New Orleans' Mardi Gras mingles with attraction thrills and favorite characters at Universal Studios Florida. Now through March 25, 2017, catch this FREE event with park entry (that's more days of celebration than the New Orleans version!)

Parents, don't worry: this celebration is family-friendly. Kids and grownups alike can compete for the most beads, grab some king cake at the French Quarter Courtyard and enjoy live concerts from artists like Jason Derulo and Toby Keith.

Catch a glimpse of the Mardi Gras party at Universal Studios!

The famous parade welcomes six new floats this year with a Mythical Creatures theme, including The Dance of the Dragon, The Flight of the Pegasus and The Rise of the Garuda. One of the best spots to watch is right across the street from the soon-to-open Jimmy Fallon ride, but kids have a spot to themselves at the Little Jester's Parade viewing area, located in front of the Brown Derby Hat Shop. Head over an hour before the parade starts to claim the best view!

It's a party across the park! Colorful dancers and stilt performers are everywhere, perfect for selfies (#UniversalMardiGras). Look out for performers and Jesters near the French Quarter Courtyard in the early evening for more kids' entertainment, including games, dancing, photo ops and even special Mardi Gras goodies.

Mardi Gras wouldn't be complete without authentic New Orleans food, and you can find it at the French Quarter Courtyard, in front of the Transformers ride. Spicy jambalaya, grilled andouille sausage, Creole gumbo, beignets and king cake are just a few of the dishes available. Grab your plate and stick around to enjoy live brass bands straight from Bourbon Street (see full list below)!

Every night of Mardi Gras is a blast, but if you want the most out of your visit, plan for one of the 12 select nights of live performances by nationally-recognized musical acts, from Yandel to Jason Derulo and The All-American Rejects. Concerts start at 8:30 p.m., but head to the stage early for a front-row view of the action.
