5 Ways to Celebrate the Christmas Season at Gaylord Palms Resort

Want to be thrilled by 2-million holiday lights and 2-million pounds of sculpted ice? It truly is the best time of the year the Gaylord Palms Resort during their annual Christmas Celebration. Enjoy larger than life ice carvings, unlimited snow tubing and special holiday performances from November 24, 2015 — January 3, 2016.

 

#1. ICE! — 'Twas the night Before Christmas

This year the classic holiday poem, ‘Twas the night Before Christmas comes to life in a whole new way. Walk through scenes of the story recreated out of brightly colored, carved ice all kept in a chilly temperature of 9°F (-12.78°C). The center of the attraction features four, slippery ice slides. These slide, as high as two-stories, become the highlight of the experience for children and adults alike.

#2. Artisan Ice Carvers

Artisans travel each year from Harbin, China to sculpt 2 million pounds of ice into the colorful ICE! attraction. Each ice carver comes from a long heritage of the art form including the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. Guests are able to see these artists at work with special live demonstrations inside the attraction.

#3. Alpine Rush Snow Tubing

Take an unlimited number of runs down the Alpine Rush Snow Tubing course. This 18 ft. (5.5 m) 8-lane giant snow hill is created with 1.5 million pounds of real snow, made in Florida.

#4. Cirque Dreams Unwrapped

Special entertainment includes an all-new Cirque Dreams Unwrapped. Enjoy an array of seasonal characters brought to life in a dreamscape of imaginative costumes and creativity, while feats of showmanship are performed on stage and in the air. The 25-minute Broadway style show is a colorful performance that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

#5. Holiday Decorations in the Atrium

Wander through the resort's main atrium featuring grand displays of poinsettias, a 54-foot tall Christmas tree and miles of suspended twinkling lights. The center atrium is also home to the hub of the celebration where guests can take part in gingerbread decorating, Santa meet and greets and even brunch with Mrs. Claus herself.
