An exciting change has come to WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort's dining, shopping and entertainment district in Orlando formerly known as Downtown Disney (Masaharu Morimoto of Morimoto Asia pictured).

With the wave of a wand, a sprinkle of pixie dust and a multi-year expansion project, Walt Disney World® Resort has officially changed the name of their shopping and entertainment complex to Disney Springs®. The announcement also raises the bar on dining in Orlando with the opening of Morimoto Asia and Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar.

Morimoto Asia

Celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto, best known to millions of fans as the star of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, has brought his electrifying take on Asian cuisine to Orlando with the opening of Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs.

The two-story restaurant, located in the former nightclub district known as Pleasure Island, will feature Western influences on traditional Asian flavors like Peking duck carving, dim sum and fresh sushi.

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar

An aviation-themed lounge, Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar has opened as part of the continuous expansion of dining options at Disney Springs.

The restaurant's theme down to the servers who are scripted to say that ancient artifacts are not acceptable forms of payment is a tribute to the Indiana Jones blockbuster films.

Serving up unique drinks and tasty small plates themed after each of the original films, each visit is guaranteed to be a delicious adventure minus the ancient tombs and dangerous snakes.

More to Come

With all of this excitement, it's hard to believe that there's still more to come in 2016 with the opening of a modern steakhouse, STK, and a lavish "Industrial Gothic"-style restaurant and bar called The Edison.

When Disney Springs is fully completed in 2016, guests will enjoy double the number of shopping, dining and entertainment venues from the current 70 to nearly 150 totaling more than 1 million square feet.
