The Travel Industry Sales team markets Orlando to tour operators, wholesalers and retail travel agents throughout the world. Trade shows, sales missions, seminars, and familiarization tours are some of the means by which the Orlando message is spread globally.


Visit Orlando is seeking two (2) Travel Industry Sales Interns for the Spring 2019 semester majoring in hospitality/tourism or marketing. Ideally, the intern candidate should possess good organizational and written communication skills, and a basic knowledge of the tourism industry. Computer skills - to include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


The Travel Industry Sales' curriculum will include a well-rounded experience of the department's main functions including sales activity, member relations, and sales and marketing events as well as learning about our key global source markets and reach.


Travel Industry Sales Intern duties may include:

  • Assisting managers with arrangements for marketing events to include sales missions, trade shows and fam tours;
  • Updating marketing resource and presentation materials; and actually interacting with the travel industry.
  • They will also develop itineraries and update special offers and listings to market the destination on the Trade Professional web site.
  • Specific focus project to be determined during team orientation
  • Sales Missions: Arrangements for a sales mission could include recruiting participation from the membership; updating invitation lists; adapting travel trade presentation materials; and selection and shipment of collateral and promotional material. Follow-up leads are incorporated into the department's database.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Students must be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Must be able to work at least 20 hours a week.
