Visit Orlando is now recruiting for a full-time Print and Digital Services Senior Graphic/Digital Designer. The Senior Graphic/Digital Designer is responsible for the design and development of both web-related projects including HTML email, HTML5 animated banner ads, websites, and print-related projects including publications, collateral and advertisements for all the departments in the organization (Global and International Marketing, Convention & Meeting Sales, Publicity, Membership, Executive, Destination Services, Consumer Marketing, Trade Shows & Events, Visitor Service and Travel Trade Industry Sales).

 

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

Digital - Email

  • Design and code email templates, mailings and landing pages for all departments within the organization.
  • Execute large volumes of emails using ExactTarget/Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Requires proficiency in relevant software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator), Email Marketing Systems (ExactTarget/Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Requires proficiency in relevant web development tools including the ability to write and troubleshoot HTML5 and CSS code.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to email design and optimization for different browsers, devices, operating systems and screen sizes.

 

Digital - Banner Ads

  • Design and develop animated banner advertisements for all departments within the organization.
  • Requires proficiency in relevant software including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Edge) and Google Web Designer.
  • Requires proficiency in relevant web development tools including the ability to write and troubleshoot HTML5, CSS and JavaScript code.
  • Ability to work within ad serving systems, including FlashTalking and Sizmek, to add creative files and information used by our ad agencies.

 

Digital - Web

  • Update and maintain the Membership Website (VisitOrlando.com/members) using Salesforce's Site.com functionality. This includes updating advertising specifications, event information and adding new pages as needed.
  • Update and maintain the TourismMatters.com website when each new e-newsletter is published (currently bi-weekly).
  • Upload files to server hosted on GoDaddy.com using FTP software.
  • Requires proficiency in relevant web development software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver), and tools including HTML5, CSS, Salesforce (Site.com).

 

Print

  • Design and develop print publications, marketing material, collateral, presentations, etc.
  • Requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Bridge), Keynote, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and FTP software, such as Fetch.
  • Extensive knowledge of direct-to-plate pre-press procedures.
  • Requires proficiency in producing high-volume, press-quality PDF files and utilizing Pitstop Pro software for pre-flight analysis.
  • Ability to write and edit scripts using the InData plug-in for InDesign, to format text styles for content pulled from a Salesforce database, as needed, for print publications.

 

Miscellaneous

  • Troubleshoot Mac-based software and potential conflicts between system and application upgrades.
  • Color-correct photos using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Troubleshoot client/ad agency files in preparation for accurate output.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of design and technical trends and current software and hardware.
  • Research and recommend computer hardware and software purchases/upgrades.
  • Train and assist other designers as needed.
  • Maintain file archive for all projects.
  • Exceptional combination of creative and strategic thinking.
  • Manage multiple projects in a timely, efficient manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Participate in meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members, across all departments, to educate them in email, digital, web, print and Digital Asset Management system as needed.
  • Serve as Visit Orlando Brand ambassador by maintaining a constant focus on brand consistency on all projects throughout the organization.
  • Ensures own work area is maintained in a safe, organized and clean manner.
  • Perform other accountabilities and projects as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.F.A.) from a four-year college or university in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Web Design, Web Development or other related discipline and a minimum of eight years experience in the field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPUTER & TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Edge, Bridge), Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Web Designer, FTP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and proficiency working with Email Marketing Software - ExactTarget/Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot HTML, CSS and JavaScript code.
  • Extensive experience in HTML email development and in troubleshooting creative and deployment issues as it relates to the various operating systems, email clients and screen sizes.
  • Experience in HTML5 animated banner development and ad serving software.
  • Proficient in the design and production of a variety of print- and presentation-related projects.
  • Hands-on experience working with Digital Asset Management systems - Widen preferred.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS).
