Manager of Business Affairs

Primary Objective

Acts as primary resource to CEO, COO and SVP of Finance for program analysis and ROI reporting for all areas of the business.  Oversees budget, forecasting and projects related to the area.  Manages the Business Affairs team.

Accountability

Financial

  • Develop annual budgets for each operating department
    1. Prepare schedules and analyze high-spend items to show trends, history and metrics
    2. Assist with the presentation of department schedules to senior leadership
    3. Work with the SVP of Finance to present the budget to Board of Directors
  • Update revenue and expense forecasts on a regular basis
    1. Prepared ad-hoc analysis for areas of concern or opportunities
    2. Report areas of concerns and opportunities to the SVP of Finance
  • Ensures procurement procedures are adhered to and assist with analysis related to RFPs and bid process when applicable

Program Analysis

  • Support operational departments with analysis on existing and new initiative programs
  • Identify, track and report key measurement metrics for success.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to offer insight to help develop business plans, establish objectives and set goals

Business Support

  • Work with other finance support areas on company-wide requirements and initiatives
    1. IT:  Own key financial and reporting-related programs such as DOMO, Jet Reports
    2. Finance Project Manager:   Support with all Orange County and Audit and Oversight Committee reporting and review requirements
    3. Accounting:  Assist with the month-end close process

Accountabilities for Supervision

  • Recommend to SVP the selection, promotion, transfer, and discipline of assigned team members
  • Conduct or oversee the onboarding process for new team members to assure they understand areas of responsibility and technical training is established
  • Educate team members of existing and new financial and company policies and procedures
  • Conduct one-on-one mentorship meetings on a regular and scheduled basis
  • Monitor the work performance of each team member on a continual basis, conducts effective performance appraisals and take corrective action whenever necessary
  • Create a working climate in which team members are motivated to develop their skills and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.
  • Administer company policies in a fair and equitable manner with regard to discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination and fully documents all incidents and actions taken.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.  A business, finance, economics, accounting, or statistics degree preferred. Five+ years related experience in an analytical type of role.

Business Skills

Possess the skills and experience to be a strategic partner engaging on multiple levels of management.  Must be able to present to and engage with senior management, including occasionally offering challenges and/or contradictory opinions on options being considered.  Extensive business acumen is a must, and strong project management skills is a requirement as they may head-up occasional departmental and organizational projects.

Language Skills

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with senior leaders.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of the organization.  Ability to read and interpret documents with data and contracts with specific business terms.

Mathematics Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

Required to sit for long periods, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

Work Environment

The environment for this job is an office environment with a mixture of requirements between the company office building and an at-home office environment.  The position does not result in exposure to conditions outside of the normal office environment.

Location

Candidates must be located in Orlando. There is no relocation assistance available for this position.
