Intern for the organization that promotes Orlando across the nation and throughout the world.


The Global Communications team is responsible for promoting Orlando as a top choice for both leisure travel and meetings and conventions through public relations, social media and content development. The team also works to educate and inform the value of Visit Orlando in the community and a trusted resource for visitors.


Visit Orlando is seeking a Global Communications Intern for the Fall 2018 semester to support different team members within the department. The intern will work 24 hours a week (preferred 3 full days). Ideally, the candidate should possess good journalistic writing skills/experience. Press release writing a plus. Prior Public Relations internships a plus.


Global Communications Intern duties may include:

  • Gain experience working with domestic and international travel media.
  • Write press releases, blogs, social media posts and newsletter copy.
  • Assist with journalist press trips, media requests and film shoots.
  • Research and track news clips, social media posts and stories related to Orlando.
  • Help maintain Visit Orlando's Calendar of Events.
  • Liaise with public relations professionals at attractions, hotels, restaurants and Public Relations firms.
  • Learn how the organization brands and positions itself to spread the Orlando message globally.
  • Gain an understanding of the impact Orlando's tourism industry has on Central Florida and help educate others through various communication channels.
  • Assist with the organization's charitable involvement.
  • Work in an exciting and ever-changing atmosphere where each day presents a new challenge and learning experience.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Students must be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Must be able to work at least 24 hours a week.
  • Ability to speak, read and write Portuguese.
