REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Membership & Support Services


The Director of Creative Services leads the team to develop and execute small to large scale graphic design projects and campaigns. These projects are developed in a variety of media, including print, web, social media, digital communication and for live events, and are designed to reach internal and external audiences. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all projects and campaigns reflect Visit Orlando’s brand. This Director is forward thinking about integrating all visual and creative components into the organization’s communications and marketing efforts and will build a positive environment for the creative team to work in and oversee their ideas and projects.


  1. Utilize industry knowledge, trends and business and consumer insights and research to lead the team that will develop concepts that fulfill the creative needs aligned with our organization’s strategy and business needs.

  2. Responsible for the creative philosophy and the standard of output across the department. Oversees and facilitates design and production quality control across all projects and campaigns working within brand standards.

  3. Leads creative input sessions, helping develop ideas for marketing and promotional campaigns. Represents the department in presentations and strategy discussions, partnering with key stakeholders and external resources to support the needs of the organization.

  4. Determines processes and procedures for the department and conducts appropriate meetings to ensure that all projects and campaigns are conducted on schedule and within budget. Ensures that scheduling is maintained internally and externally.

  5. Recommends and manages budget for assigned area to ensure that operations are conducted within budget guidelines.

  6. Supervises and schedules activities of the department, directing projects and campaigns from start to finish, keeping to deadlines, and signing off before they are presented. Ensures proactive communication in project status, changes and developments.

  7. Liaises with internal clients to develop strong working relations with the department and to keep them informed and to highlight any issues, concerns and opportunities.

  8. Develops positive working relationship with external agencies to bring campaigns to completion.

  9. Enhances the infrastructure and operations of the department to increase timeliness and communications, while supporting the creative development process.

  10. Oversees Visit Orlando’s digital asset management system.

  11. Ensures protection of the Orlando and Visit Orlando brands. Serves as Brand ambassador.

  12. Keeps SVP of Member Relations & Support Services informed of all matters related to the programs maintained by the Creative Services department.

  13. Performs other accountabilities and projects as assigned.

  1. Participates in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, salary and discipline of assigned personnel.

  2. Personally conducts or oversees training for new employees to ensure that established procedures are clearly understood and followed.

  3. Answers employee questions, resolves work-related challenges and interprets Visit Orlando policies to staff to improve quality and quantity of work performed within accountable areas.

  4. Monitors the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis, conducts effective performance appraisals and takes corrective action when necessary.

  5. Creates a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrates by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.

  6. Administers company policies in a fair and equitable manner regarding discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination, and fully documents all incidents and actions taken.



Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication and interpersonal interaction skills, along with the ability to manage, coach and mentor a creative services team and oversee a high quantity of projects in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision. A self-reliant, problem-solving, results-oriented individual who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical operations.

Progressively responsible multimedia creative/management experience in the areas of promotion, production and/or creative services for medium to large market. Proven track record for development of successful marketing concepts, branding efforts, account service, digital media, creative and production procedures. Proficiency in financial planning and management.


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and good understanding of MAC applications and computers, design packages and asset management tools


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.


The environment for this job is typical for an office and does not result in exposure to conditions outside of the normal office environment.

This position does have remote work flexibility.
