This fall, Orlando goes from being not only the "theme park capital of the world", but also the "Halloween capital of the world", with over 130 Halloween theme park event nights - plus destination-wide festivities - that range from extreme scares for adults and teens to frights for the family.

From the fun-for-everyone Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World to the spine-chilling Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando (separate admission required) and Halloween Spooktacular® at SeaWorld Orlando (included with regular park admission), this is the perfect destination for those seeking spooky family fun or fright-filled nights.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park plays host to the ultimate trick-or-treating neighbourhood as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns on select nights from Sep. 2 - Oct. 31, 2016.

Guests are invited to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating, meet and greets with Disney characters donning Halloween costumes, and entertainment unique to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Led by the infamous Headless Horseman, “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade,” is featured twice nightly, followed by “HalloWishes,” a green and orange fireworks display complete with Disney villains.

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular

SeaWorld Orlando invites families to dive in and explore an underwater “fantasea” at SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular – a family-friendly event where children can trick-or-treat, dance with fanciful sea creatures, and create sea-themed arts and crafts select days in October, 2016. 

Included with park admission, guests can enjoy the wonders of the sea at Penelope’s Party Zone, search for hidden “sea” treasures using their Spooktacular maps at fifteen different locations, and stroll among colourful, playful schools of pumpkin fish and other whimsical characters like Penelope Pumpkin fish, Shamu, Dolly Dolphin, Shivers the Polar Bear, Pete and Penny Penguin and more!

LEGOLAND Florida's Brick or Treat

LEGOLAND Florida celebrates Halloween with their Brick or Treat event. Miniland USA will transform into a haunted but fun scavenger hunt where guest can find scary Lego creatures, weekends in October, 2016.

Kids can participate in a costume contest and guest of all ages can trick-or-treat along the brick-or-treat trail, build unique LEGO model activities, and witness the largest LEGO Jack-O-Lantern in the world. Event admission is included with regular park admission.

Zoo Boo Bash

Trick-or-treat in the wildest neighbourhood in town during Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Garden's Zoo Boo Bash. It's a safe, fun and not-so-scary event for the whole family. Kids are invited to dress up and bring goodie bags for the trick-or-treat stations, Oct. 22 & 23, 29 & 30, 2016.

Take a haunted hayride, visit the Pumpkin Patch, and learn about some of the zoo's misunderstood animals. Admission is included in regular zoo admission.

Universal's Halloween Horror Nights 26 Exorcist

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 26

Step right into some of the most pulse-pounding moments in horror history at Halloween Horror Nights 26. On select nights from Sep. 16 - Oct. 31, 2016, the streets of Universal Studios Florida® theme park come alive with a horde of horrifying mutants, monsters and maniacs.

You can explore eight terrifying haunted houses, make your way through multiple street experiences where creatures lurk around every turn, enjoy outrageous live shows, and experience many of the park's most exciting rides and attractions. Add Halloween Horror Nights® to your daytime fun at Universal Orlando® Resort for the ultimate in thrills and chills.

Spooky Empire Horror Convention

The largest horror convention in the U.S., Spooky Empire, is headquartered in Orlando and is taking place Oct. 7 - 9, 2016.

Bigger than ever, this year's lineup of celebrity guests includes Millie Bobby Brown from the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things," and popular comedian and musician, Weird Al Yankovic. Other thrills and chills at the convention include a tattoo festival, costume contest, zombie walk and film festival.

A Petrified Forest

Expanded for this year, A Petrified Forest brings the demented to life with two outdoor scare trails, live music, food, and more on select nights, Sept. 30 - Oct. 29.

This year, the unsettling haunt invites guests to relive their childhood fears, from monsters under the bed to the darkest "scary" tales imaginable. A demented dream land beckons visitors in, but when - or if - they return is anyone's guess.
