Universal has been part of Orlando’s landscape since 1990, bringing movies, TV and your dreams to life at two theme parks, the destination’s newest standalone water park and Universal CityWalk, which features dining, nightlife, entertainment and shopping. With so many great attractions to choose from, the only hard part is deciding where to start.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter begins at Universal’s first Orlando theme park with Diagon Alley. Ride Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, enjoy themed dining and shopping, and catch the Hogwarts Express to see the rest of this immersive land at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Those who prefer sci-fi to fantasy won’t want to miss Terminator 2 3-D, Transformers: The Ride 3-D and Men in Black Alien Attack. Also in this vein, E.T. Adventure is the only day-one attraction still in service at the park.

For animated adventures, head to Springfield U.S.A. for The Simpsons Ride. More cartoon fun can be had on Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Shrek 4-D and Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. And before you leave, tour the Big Apple on Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, which was added in 2017.

The surf is always up at Universal’s water park, which opened in 2017 with the mighty Krakatau volcano as its titular centerpiece. The landmark also serves as the starting point for four of the park’s best attractions: Krakatau Aqua Coaster, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slide and Punga Racers.

More fast times can be enjoyed at Rainforest Village, including Taniwha Tubes, Ohyah & Ohno Drop Slide, TeAwa the Fearless River and Maku Puihi Raft Rides.

When you’re ready to relax, drift away on the Kopiko Wai Winding River at River Village, which also offers fun reefs and the Honu ika Moana multi-person raft ride. Waturi Beach at Wave Village, featuring a multi-directional wave pool, is also not to be missed.
