48.7 Million Visitors Experienced Orlando in 2007
Domestic and International Visitation Show Strong Growth
ORLANDO, Fla. - During 2007, Orlando welcomed 48.7 million visitors. This represents an increase of 2 percent as compared with 2006. Domestic travel accounted for 45.9 million visitors, an increase of 1.8 percent. International travel, which includes overseas countries and Canada, totaled 2.8 million, an increase of 5.7 percent. Canadian visitation increased sharply by 13 percent and visitation from the United Kingdom increased by 1.7 percent.

2007 Domestic Visitation
Leisure visitors - the largest of all demographics and which account for 77 percent of all domestic visitors - increased 2.4 percent. Overnight leisure visitation increased by 3.9 percent, while those leisure visitors staying only for a day declined by 0.3 percent. Total business visitation decreased by 0.5 percent with overnight business visitation declining by 2.1 percent and overnight group meetings declining 4.5 percent, while day business visitation increased by 1.2 percent.

2007 International Visitor Volume
International visitor volume to Orlando in 2007 was up 5.7 percent from 2006 to 2.8 million visitors. Overseas volume, which excludes Canada and Mexico, increased 3.1 percent to more than 2.0 million visitors. Canada visitation increased significantly from 693,000 in 2006 to 783,000 in 2007.
The United Kingdom represented nearly half (48 percent) of all overseas visitors and remained Orlando’s largest international origin with a 1.7 percent increase in visitors in 2007. Overseas visitors excluding the United Kingdom increased 4.4 percent in 2007.
