Hold on to Summer With A Fall Weekend Getaway To Orlando
Orlando Offers Endless Summer "Get One Free!" Deals and Special Events August 15 - November 15
ORLANDO, Fla. - Sunny skies, warm weather, and a carefree attitude don't have to end when summer officially concludes on September 22.
This fall, travelers can hold on to summer for a little longer during Orlando's Endless Summer campaign with more than 50 options for "Get One Free" accommodations and activities offers from August 15 - November 15. Created by the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. (Orlando CVB) for the long-weekend getaway traveler, the program provides such deals as "Stay 2 Nights, Get the 3rd Night Free," "Stay 3 Nights, Get the 4th Night Free" and "Purchase 3 Rounds of Golf, Get the 4th Round Free," during a time when Orlando enjoys 70-degree temperatures, lighter crowds, and a variety of outdoor activities and special events.
"Because summer's energy lingers right up to the holidays, fall in Orlando is much more about a state of mind than a season. It's a place for travelers not ready to bid farewell to that summer feeling of escape, discovery and adventure," said Gary C. Sain, president and CEO of the Orlando CVB. "And with research increasingly showing that Americans are looking for long weekend vacation options, Orlando's Endless Summer delivers the environment, the activities, the events and the offers to create this perfect quick-break getaway."
"Free Night" accommodation options feature a full-range of properties from the Four-Diamond Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort, to the value-oriented Hawthorn Suites Universal to Stay USA Vacation Homes. "Free Golf" offers include one of Orlando's newest courses, the David Harman-designed Shingle Creek Golf Club at the 1500-room mega-resort Shingle Creek, situated on part of the natural headwaters of the Florida Everglades.
In addition, visitors can peg their travel dates to a blockbuster Endless Summer special events calendar filled with culinary, cultural, and sporting events and one of the world's largest destination-wide Halloween celebrations. Some of the more than 15 events include Orlando's Magical Dining Month, an opportunity to enjoy three-course, $19 and $29 prix-fixe dinners at more than 50 Central Florida restaurants throughout September; the late September 2007 Fireball Run Transcontinental Rally, involving 100 teams competing in a nine day race across America; the 12th Annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival featuring hundreds of wine, beer and culinary seminars and tastings; the Children's Miracle Network Classic, bringing together nearly 150 top PGA Tour players at the Walt Disney World Resort in early November; the 34th Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival, a juried art show featuring Florida artists and live entertainment; and a wide-variety of haunted happenings from Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando to SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween Spooktacular.
Orlando's thriving arts community also rolls out a new season of cultural entertainment with Broadway-series shows at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center; professional-ensemble plays at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre; family audience plays at the Orlando Repertory Theatre; and performances by the Orlando Ballet, the Orlando Opera, and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
