The Lake Apopka Wildlife Festival & Birdapalooza Birding Festival is perfect for nature-lovers visiting Central Florida. Tour the 20,000-acre Lake Apopka North Shore, where 360+ bird species have been sighted. Keynote speaker Greg Miller (who was portrayed by actor Jack Black in the movie The Big Year) is among the knowledgeable birding guides leading field trips. On Saturday January 21st participate in the 5th annual FREE family-oriented Birdapalooza festival at Orange County's Magnolia Park, 2929 S Binion Rd, Apopka, FL 32703. Enjoy photo walks, bird banding, guided bus tours (limited first-come seating), and guided walking and biking nature tours for children and adults on the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. For the entire family there are live animal demonstrations, tree giveaways, music, airboat rides (for a fee), owl pellet dissections, entertainment by IBEX Puppetry, bounce houses, face painting, exhibitors, nature-oriented merchandise vendors and food trucks.
