Part-Time Guest Services
Visit Orlando is searching for a customer service oriented person to add to our Part-Time Guest Services Team. This position helps Visit Orlando promote, explain and provide information about the Orlando Destination. Our Guest Services Team responds to a variety of customer inquiries about the Orlando and Central Florida area. They interact with visitors & guests in person, over the phone and through e-mail and handle cash, credit cards and traveler’s checks when processing transactions for ticket sales. We are searching for customer friendly people who want to work Part-Time. Our locations are open 364 days a year therefore we are looking for at least three days a week of availability, including weekends. A typical work week would range from 16-24 hours with shifts averaging 6-9 hours in length. The position requires prior customer service, cash handling experience, basic computer skills, excellent telephone skills and good knowledge of the Orlando area. Retail experience is a plus.
Social Media Content Producer
The Social Media Content Producer oversees the development of Visit Orlando's social media communities. He/She develops social media content and manages the organization's day-to-day social media activities. Job responsibilites include: • Develops content for the organization’s consumer social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and for the organization’s consumer blog • Acts as an active brand ambassador for the organization in social media spaces; placing content on appropriate community sites and blogs, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate. Makes decisions daily on appropriate content • Develops a worldwide content calendar that identifies and fulfills cross-over messaging opportunities in conjunction with domestic and international consumer marketing campaigns and incorporates country specific messaging opportunities • Works with destination partners and attends special events throughout the destination to capture footage and photography to be used in various social media activities • Monitors benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs. Analyzes, reviews and presents insights on effectiveness of efforts to maximize ongoing results • Works with the Publicity, Digital Marketing, Visitor Services and Web & Application Development departments on various activities including monitoring social media trends, updating social media tools and working on TripAdvisor
Education and/or Experience A B.A. from four-year college or university and one year of experience; demonstrated creativity and immersion in social media and online community engagement. Feature writing skills with excellent knowledge of grammar and AP style. Candidate must have strong internet and computer skills. In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, especially Facebook. Functional knowledge of HTML and SEP principles. Working knowledge of blogging software and Content Management Systems such as Common Spot. Community Relations Manager
Visit Orlando is looking for a Community Relations Manager. This position develops, manages and communicates programs regarding the industry and Visit Orlando's roles in key community issues and initiatives targeted toward local hospitality industry, the business community, media and local residents. The major job duties include: 1. Identify and create opportunities to enhance Visit Orlando corporate image and exposure through programs, events, sponsorships, media exposure, etc. 2. Identifies opportunities to extend and enhance the positive attributes of the tourism industry. 3. Assists with drafting correspondence, press releases, talking points, annual reports and other printed or electronic materials to members and the community. 4. Designs and implements National Tourism Week, TOPS Appreciations and other industry programs. 5. Choreographs comprehensive local speakers’ bureau program. 6. Develops, enhances and/or maintains Visit Orlando’s relationship with key community groups. 7. Designs and implements programs to educate youth on opportunities within the industry, such as mentoring programs, job shadows, lectures and site visits. 8. Works with Corporate Social Responsibility team to implement an impactful program and maximize Visit Orlando’s impact. 9. Leads the effort to work with arts grants and other select groups on developing, implementing and reporting on Visit Orlando’s support. 10. Works with Corporate Communications Director and other departments to develop strategies on issues management, crisis communications and accompanying speaking points, briefings and other communication opportunities for the board of directors, president and staff to reach community leaders, media, trade and political community. 12. Implements and coordinates on-going tourism series with local radio, TV, on-line and print outlets. 13. Represents the president or Visit Orlando as directed on local board committees. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university plus 5-7 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be proficient in AP style writing and presentation development, as well as comfortable speaking to groups. 3-5 years media/public relations experience, along with a government affairs background is also desired.
Print Support Manager
Visit Orlando is recruiting for a Print Support Manager. Some of the major responsibilities for this position include:
1. Tracks all incoming and outgoing collateral, promotional projects including job preparation and job number assignments in an accurate and timely manner. 2. Coordinates production flow for all collateral and promotional projects, which are not advertising related, in a timely manner. 3. Communicates and manages schedules and deadlines to internal customers and vendors. 4. Prepares printing specifications for each collateral project prior to obtaining quotations. 5. Obtains requests for estimates on production and printing of collateral and promotional projects in a timely manner. 6. Prepares purchase orders for vice president’s approval on print jobs. 7. Reports to vice president for approval of all pre-press and printing estimates prior to acquiring outside services and prepares a weekly progress report for all outstanding jobs. 8. Distributes and obtains approvals for all collateral projects within scheduled time frame. 9. Maintains positive internal and external client relationships by participating in creative meetings to help develop design ideas for collateral and promotional projects. 10. Acts as the departmental project manager and reviews both designs and text for potential corrections as the project progresses, primarily on collateral projects. 11. Coordinates and monitors projects with outside vendors and attends press reviews as needed to ensure project quality. 14. Reviews editorial for accuracy, grammar and completeness.
Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus minimum of 5-7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in advertising & print environment.
