Bite into delightfully delicious chocolate cakes in Orlando that are worth the calorie splurge.

Updated May 7, 2021

Orlando is "choc"-full of delicious, chocolaty treats of all shapes and sizes, including creative cakes at the more than 5,000 restaurants and bakeries around the destination. Ranging from simple to sophisticated, here are some of the best chocolate cakes your taste buds are going to love in Orlando!

Cookies & Cream Cake at Gideon's Bakehouse

Gideon's owner Steve Lewis claims his recipes were discovered in the 1898 diary of a boy named Gideon. Whether that's true, we don't know, but we do know his desserts are as filling as they are delicious. This creation features slabs of chocolate cake separated by house-made cookies & cream icing, which doubles as cake frosting. Also offering cookies, pies and other treats, Gideon's is located in Orlando's Audubon Park district, about 15 minutes from downtown, with a second location at Disney Springs®, part of Walt Disney World® Resort.

Flourless Chocolate Cake at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen

Despite its sweet name, this Universal CityWalk dining option at Universal Orlando Resort has full lunch, dinner and even brunch menus, but as you can probably guess, they really excel at chocolaty desserts. In fact, they're so good at it that even seemingly simple creations like this flourless chocolate cake — which is served with Nutella ice cream and raspberry sauce — become melt-in-your-mouth masterpieces. While you're there, be sure to try one of their out-of-this-world milkshakes!

Chocolate Truffle Cake at The Glass Knife

Starting with tiers of dark chocolate mousse, dark chocolate ganache and chocolate biscuit coated with cocoa and gold luster glaçage, this decadent cake is topped with a chocolate lotus flower and truffles. Located in Winter Park, about 20 minutes from downtown Orlando, The Glass Knife opened in 2017 under the care of Executive Chef Stuart Whitfield, who previously crafted imaginative desserts for Victoria and Albert's, Be Our Guest and other Walt Disney World eateries. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also on the menu.

Chocolate Mousse Cake at A Land Remembered

As with the other eateries at Rosen Shingle Creek, desserts at the AAA Four Diamond-rated A Land Remembered steakhouse are overseen by Executive Pastry Chef David Ramirez, who's won dozens of awards from American Culinary Foundation competitions and has even served as captain of Team USA for the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in France. This sweet treat combines flourless chocolate cake, milk-chocolate cream filling and pecan nougatine, with raspberry ganache and fresh fruit as a topping.

Assorted Chocolate Cakes at Valhalla Bakery

You never know what cakes will be available when you walk into this bespoke bakery — and that's part of the fun. When you find one of their myriad chocolate cakes, though, grab it while you can, as they tend to sell out fast. Or, place a special order to get the exact flavor of chocolate you're looking for; just keep in mind they require 48 hours advanced notice for custom jobs. You'll find them 10 minutes east of downtown Orlando.
