Summer cocktails cover

Relax between the thrills and kick back with a refreshing summer cocktail — the perfect way to spend an afternoon or enjoy an evening during your visit.

Orlando offers a lot to do, especially with so many new openings this summer, but sometimes it's nice to kick back with a cocktail and relax between the thrills. Visitors and locals alike can stay cool with some of Orlando's most unique and delicious drinks, from high-class martinis to tropical treats. Here are some of our favorite summer cocktails to help beat the heat at Disney Springs, Downtown Orlando and "Restaurant Row," about a five-minute drive from the Orange County Convention Center

Disney Springs

Our  Orlando summer cocktail journey starts at Disney Springs. Your first stop: a Caipirinha from Paradiso 37. This drink offers a refreshing blend of Cachaça, the famous Brazilian spirit, distilled from fermented sugarcane juice, and muddled with lime wedges and sugar. You choose from four flavors: classic, strawberry, pineapple or mango.

From there, visit the outdoor stargazer's bar at Planet Hollywood for live music and a refreshing Cosmic Colada, featuring Malibu Coconut  Rum, Jim Beam Kentucky Fire and coconut purée. Sweet and tropical, it's the perfect summer vacation concoction.

If you're with the kids, where better to find a summery drink than the tropical wonderland at Rainforest  Café? Try the Island Breeze for a refreshing mix of Haven  Caribbean Coconut Rum, Skyy Citrus Vodka, triple sec and fruit juices, while the kids enjoy the immersive rainforest setting.

Another family friendly restaurant is The BOATHOUSE. This waterfront location features the perfect summer refreshment: Blueberry  Lemonade made with stoli blueberry, deep eddy lemon vodka, homemade lemonade and fresh blueberries.

Restaurant Row

Making your way further North in Orlando is International Drive's Restaurant Row. This  Orlando foodie landmark provides plenty of options to sit back and enjoy a  summer cocktail.

You can start with the classic American brasserie Urbain 40, which has a wide selection of big city cocktails. While you're there, try the Elderflower  Martini for a sophisticated sip of summer, a delicate floral martini with hints of honey, white grape and lime.

Next try the  Finding Midori at Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi for a refreshing drink with light Midori flavors, cucumber-infused vodka, hananomai sake and yuku lime — the perfect match for any sushi roll.

Keeping up with its seasonally inspired menu, Seasons 52 offers a delightful Bourbon Peach Smash, just in time for summer. Ripe with sweet peaches and refreshing mint, this cocktail offers just a touch of smooth summer heat with Maker's Mark Bourbon.

For an interesting twist on a classical refreshing drink, go to Seito Sushi and order the Frosé Sangria.  This drink was inspired by the Japanese word natsumeku, which means, "it looks  like it's becoming summer." The drink has a crisp rose and light summer fruit taste, with ingredients like magali rosé, lychees, Asian pear, summer fruit, crushed shiso and Elderflower liqueur.

Downtown Orlando

Finally,  travel to Downtown Orlando to enjoy a cocktail in a more metropolitan setting. Make sure to stop by The Courtesy, an intimate and charming speakeasy. The bar offers a variety of handcrafted cocktails, wines and craft beer. We recommend the Neverender made with strawberry infused illegal mezcal, yellow chartreuse,  lemon, cardamaro, demerara and zucca amaro.

The Molly Ringwald at The Rusty Spoon is also a must this summer while you're in downtown. Made with broVo Pink Rose Vermouth, fresh herb and lemon with a soda spritz, this drink is best enjoyed on the patio, where you can observe historic Church Street at your leisure.

On the second floor of the Historic Rose building in Downtown Orlando, you can find another speakeasy bar called The Woods. This summer, we suggest going for their Trapped  Under Ice cocktail, made with Nolet's Gin, ginger beer, peach liqueur and lemon.

Finally, visit  DoveCote Brasserie and order The Sabatier's Craft. This summer cocktail is served in a goblet and made with Elyx Vodka, Lillet rose, strawberry, pineapple,  lime and tiki bitters. It's the perfect drink to relax this summer over a plate of oysters or a soufflé and feel like royalty.

No matter where you are, there's a summer cocktail waiting to cool you down in one of Orlando's many food districts. So, which one will you try? Tweet us your own favorites @VisitOrlando.
