Once again, Universal Orlando has pulled out all of the stops to create the most twisted Halloween event in the U.S. with new and returning scare zones and haunted houses. If you're a newbie or a regular, Halloween Horror Nights is full of first time screams. We're here to creep it real by sharing some of our terrifying tips for making the most of your night of frights, whether it's your first or 26th time.
While you're reading this blog, you may be unaware of what is creeping up behind you. Don't look now; it could be Chance from Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights 26, on selected nights, now through Oct. 31, 2016. She's the star of a surreal world of horror in her own scare zone that will send creepy tingles down your spine.
It's fright this way into five scare zones, which brings hoards of creepy ghouls out into the streets of Universal Studios Florida. Be on guard as you navigate the park and keep watch for signs that you've entered a scare zone. The usual tells include the area is dark, has special effect lighting and is filled with fog.
If you've got it, haunt it is the motto of the entertainment team at Universal who have created nine terrifying haunted houses which include some of the best designed details and special effects in the biz.
The two scariest haunted houses are also new for this year including THE EXORCIST, depicting scenes from the 1973 horror film, and a haunted house based on the FX Network hit television series, AMERICAN HORROR STORY.
Our favorite house is LUNATICS PLAYGROUND 3D - YOU WON'T STAND A CHANCE where you step in to Chance's twisted world with all of her creepy friends.
Party on with the live entertainment including everyone's favorite - BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT HALLOWEEN ADVENTURE as those two most excellent dudes from the 1980's pop culture time-warp into present day to poke fun at today's political and celebrity scene including quips at the Pokémon craze. For first timers, this show features off-color humor and high-energy dancers.
There is a wide variety of themed merchandise, which makes it cool to share with your envious friends. In addition to the traditional gift shops we found even more options at various carts scattered around the park.
Upgrades and Add-Ons:
There are several ways to enhance your experience for an additional cost, including an all-new virtual reality horror experience, a private RIP Tour Guide can get you front of the line access and our favorite, especially for Florida Residents, the Frequent Fear Pass allows for multiple visits through the run of the event.
And there you have our top first timer tips for navigating Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights 26, "Boo"-yah!
