If you're a creature of the night then you'll be thrilled about the new nighttime attractions and entertainment at Disney's Animal Kingdom. For the first time in forever, the nearly 20 year old theme park at Walt Disney World Resort is open past sunset. Guests can now enjoy a full day and night of animal friendly fun that will have you howling with excitement.
The park's iconic Tree of Life comes alive throughout the night as the animal spirits are brought to life through dynamic visual effects and sounds. Projections of nature scenes take on a magical quality as they appear to dramatically emanate from within the Tree of Life.
For this summer only, a live musical show, "The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic," sets the stage for all of the after dark fun that guests can experience in the park. The water pageant show along the Discovery River features water screens, animal projections, vibrant costumes all themed to the live-action film, "The Jungle Book."
The Kilimanjaro Safaris has extended their tours into the night with enhanced sunset and moon glow lighting effects along the animal tour. The experience becomes entirely new at night as the animals become nocturnal along with the additions of hyenas and African wild dogs to the collection.
All of the fan favorite rides in the park are open to riders at night. Go for a moonlit ride and enjoy a whole new experience on Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids and the rides in Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama.
New dining has also joined the roster with the opening of Tiffins. From Sustainable Season Fish to Honey-Glazed Coriander Spiced Port Ribs, the waterfront restaurant offers a diverse menu drawing from all of the places that have inspired the creation of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
"Travelers" can also settle in for a specialty cocktail or a glass of wine from Africa and Asia at the adjacent lounge retreat called Nomad Lounge.
