The NFL has announced that the 2017 Pro Bowl, along with a weeklong celebration, is coming to Orlando, making the City Beautiful the new home of the league's all-star game for the next three seasons.
Activities around a newly created Pro Bowl Week will include accessible team practices at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World, along with a variety of youth football and family fun activities across Orlando.
"When we started to shape the idea of the Pro Bowl being more than just the game on the field, but being about youth and families and celebrating all aspects of the game, it married up very quickly with Orlando as an incredible destination," says Peter O'Reilly, NFL Senior Vice President of Events.
With its move, the game will return to the traditional NFC - AFC conference matchup with the inaugural game scheduled at the Camping World Stadium in downtown Orlando on Sunday January 29, 2017.
"Our partners in tourism have turned Orlando into an unbelievable destination to visit. And now we've fixed up our facilities with the renovations at Camping World Stadium and we're ready for the NFL to play in our city," says Steve Hogan, Chief Executive Officer of Florida Citrus Sports.
Beginning in the fall of 2016, first priority access to Pro Bowl game tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders of Florida's NFL teams - Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, along with Orlando's Florida Citrus Sports and 29 NFL clubs.
More information, including Pro Bowl visit planning and special ticket purchasing opportunities, will be available soon from Visit Orlando.
