SWO Viva La Musica Stage 544x350

Every Saturday through May 16, 2015, Sea World Orlando brings Latin culture alive during their annual Viva La Musica Festival. Now in its ninth year, this fun, family-friendly event is a place where guests can savor authentic Latin food, see and buy local art and dance to the hottest Latin bands.

Visit Orlando's Latin music lovers had the opportunity to preview the event and here is what we enjoyed best about SeaWorld's Viva La Musica 2015.

This past Saturday, SeaWorld debuted this annual festival with a special performance from Olga Tañon. The quality of the music talent is very impressive but even more impressive is the enthusiastic fans that lined up before the rope was dropped and ran to save their first-row seats three hours before the show.

It was only 1 p.m., but families of all ages saved their concert seats, took turns to enjoy a few rides and wandered around the Viva La Musica's designated area to listen and dance to some Latin music.

The adults enjoyed some dominoes rounds, some specialty shopping and a few tropical cocktails, while the children played in the kids area, interacted with the animal ambassadors and took pictures with their favorite characters.

There were also all kind of Latin food favorites including bacalaitos, tripletas, carne asada, pinchos de pollo, churasco de puerco, enpananillas, chicharones and macitas de cerdo, mostly served with arroz con gandules and tostones, and prepared by SeaWorld's own Executive Chef Héctor Colόn.

But let's get back to the music. There was a small stage with a Latin band playing salsa and merengue music for those ready to dance the whole afternoon. SeaWorld characters joined the fun and encouraged visitors to showcase their best Latin moves.

And the main event was nothing less than spectacular: two full hours of non-stopped entertainment by the very talented Olga Tañon. Her energy was quickly transmitted to the crowd who danced, sung and celebrated her talent and her music.

Viva La Musica at SeaWorld is definitely a must see Latin Festival for the entire family.

Scheduled performances now include:

  • Saturday, May 2: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico
  • Saturday, May 9: Elvis Crespo
