Celebrating 40 years of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review at Disney's Magic Kingdom.

Yahoo! (Clap clap) HOOP-DEE-DOO! It's time to grab your cowboy hat and dust off your best pair of boots, because the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is celebrating 40 years at Walt Disney World® Resort's Magic Kingdom® Park. If you're a first timer or a regular, get ready for the most family fun you'll have this side of the Mississippi.

One of the longest running dinner shows in the United States, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground delivers a zany hootenanny three times a night in the replica of an Old West dance hall. Since Sept. 5, 1974 the show has presented more than 37,000 performances to more than 10.5 million guests.

Three times a night, you can enjoy a slice of Americana, old-fashioned family fun and heaping helpings of good, down-home food.

Family style, all-you-care-to-eat buckets of chicken, ribs, cornbread and sides are served while performers sing, dance and act their way through the timeless classic. Marinated grilled salmon, squash and zucchini are also on the table for healthier eaters.

The characters have remained the same since the first curtain call and some of the cast members have been with show since its early beginnings. Jim Handy and Flora Long are the lead singers. Johnny Ringo and Claire de Lune are the main dancers. Six Bits Slocum and Dolly Drew round out the cast as the show's comic relief.

There's been just one change to the Hoop-Dee-Doo menu since 1974: the strawberry shortcake for dessert. When the show opened, it served apple pie, but that changed to shortcake in 1979. And we think it was a good move, providing the most delicious part of the night.

When was the last time you saw the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue? If you haven't been, this is a show you don't want to miss on your next visit to Orlando.
