Visit Orlando continues our 13 Weeks of Frightful Fun in Orlando with this week's ghostly good tip to help plan your Halloween fun in Orlando.
On select nights from Sept. 20 to Nov. 2, Universal Studios will conjure evil thrills in elaborately themed haunted mazes and horror experiences - including AMC's "The Walking Dead" and critically acclaimed horror films "Evil Dead" and "The Cabin in the Woods."
Given the growing popularity of this annual event, it seems like any insider tips or tricks could be useful in maximizing your frightful fun. This is why early admission, using the "Stay and Scream" ticket, has become a valuable add-on for any guest who wants to get the most out of their visit.
Technically, "Stay and Scream" is the name of the discounted ticket to Halloween Horror Nights that you can add to your daytime park ticket. Your Halloween Horror Nights ticket does not have to be used the same day as your daytime park ticket.
If you choose to purchase this upgrade, you can stay in the park after regular closing in a holding area instead of going outside and having to wait in line at the gates again. This also works if you've purchased your day ticket and HHN ticket separately.
For the early admission, guests wait in designated holding areas. Guests who show their HHN tickets can get into these holding areas which usually get released a little before the opening of the front gates. In years past, "Stay and Scream" guests can experience at least one or two houses with little or no wait while the main crowds enter the park.
This wicked advantage, along with a day of enjoying your favorite Universal Studios attractions and shows, makes it well worth the upgraded ticket purchase.
