At Modernism Museum Mount Dora we look forward to bringing you several exhibitions that illustrate how the DNA of Wharton Esherick, “Dean of American Craftsmen”, intertwines through the various works of generations of artists who followed him. Wharton is credited as being one of the most influential artists of Modernism & the American Studio Arts Movement. Moving forward, one exhibit at a time, a series of truly unique objects by such esteemed artists as George Nakashima, Sam Maloof, Arthur Espenet Carpenter and Albert Paley will demonstrate their influences, similarities and differences, all while giving credence to their individual styles.
